Christ Covenant School is a community that loves, educates, and equips our students to transform the world for Jesus Christ.

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

"All great and honorable actions are accompanied with great difficulties, and must be enterprised and overcome with answerable courage."  -- William Bradford

This week at chapel, one of our board members, Ben Crabtree shared how God is positioning our school and our students to make an impact on culture and society.  We are certainly grateful for all God had done in our school, and we are busily preparing for the next phases of growth and impact.  However, with increased influence comes increased challenges.

One of the most difficult challenges schools face is the current culture of fear that fills the media airways.  Our school and school board have been proactively training and constantly updating our protocols and equipment so that we can ensure school safety with implementation of the most current best practices, surveillance, and response protocols. Our alert system and safety policies have all been updated with the latest best practices.  We are committed to refining our drill process and training our teachers, students, and staff to safely respond with the help of both Winterville and Pitt County law enforcement officials.

Another challenge as a Christian school is maintaining our standards of purity and excellence in a world that is increasingly colored in grey.  Whenever God is preparing an individual or an institution for growth, He prunes us, shines His light on us, and reveals areas where we were walking in less than His full will for our lives.

Luke 12:2 says, "There is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known."  My encouragement in these challenging times is that God desires His light to shine in every area of our heart and in the hearts of our students.  As we allow that light to shine in us, 1 John 1:7 says, "we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin."  As we are cleansed through these challenges, we are prepared for His purposes.
