LAG B'OMER FIRE FESTIVAL

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE AND HEALTH FAIR

The TBE Men's Club will host a blood drive and health/wellness fair at the synagogue on May 6.    Please visit www.redcrossblood.org and use code 5288 or call 1-800-RED-CROSS to register to give blood. SISTERHOOD SHABBAT AND LUNCHEON

NEWS AND REMINDERS
SPONSOR A "SHABBAT BAG" FOR JEWISH PATIENTS
As a project of the Stamford Board of Rabbis, each synagogue in Stamford will deliver Shabbar Bags to all Jewish patients at Stamford Hospital on a rotating basis.  For the month of April, volunteers from the Temple Beth El Reyut Committee have been trained and registered to visit patients at Stamford Hospital and will deliver these bags on Fridays.  The bag contains challah rolls, sugar-free candy, grape juice and a professionally designed and printed booklet with healing prayers and readings in addition to information on the Jewish Community in Stamford.  Electric Shabbat candles will be offered to those patients requesting them.  The bags may be sponsored by $36 a week.
WANT TO PREPARE AND SERVE DINNER AT A LOCAL SHELTER?
In response to your requests to volunteer at shelters, we have secured the fifth Thursday of each month at New Covenant House. We must provide 2-4 people each time to work from 2:30-4:15 pm to prepare food under the direction of a chef and 4:15-5:30 pm to serve dinner to the homeless. You can come for  preparation only, serving only or both. We realize these times are not ideal for people who work traditional hours,  but weekend slots are not available at this time. ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS
The Men's Club of Temple Beth El is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for its Annual Scholarship Grants for the year 2018. These grants are available to members of the Stamford and Fairfield County area high school graduating classes, who are of the Jewish faith and who will pursue accredited programs of higher education in the forthcoming academic year.
