The first ever KWLC Talk Show Night
will be held in Marty's on Saturday, November 10 from 6-9 p.m. The event will include the best of KWLCs talk shows performing live on stage! There will be fun games and prizes, as well as free food and drink. There will also be special guest performances by Luther College Acapella groups. Free admission, so bring some friends and come on down to have a fun night with KWLC!
College Ministries welcomes
Luther alumna Lily Brondyke to campus this Friday, November 9 as chapel preacher. Lily is a 2017 Luther grad who served a year with Young Adults in Global Mission in Senegal before beginning graduate work at Wartburg Theological Seminary this fall. Students interested in learning more about ELCA seminaries or Young Adults in Global Mission are invited to join Lily & Pastor Mike for conversation over lunch in Marty's after Friday's chapel. Lunch will be provide courtesy of College Ministries.
Luther College presents Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream"
a chaotic and comedic representation of what love can be. With fairies interfering in the lives of lovers, the play follows three separate story lines full of mischief, passion and confusion.

What is public history?
It is the work of history in a public forum or in public partnership. Prof. Anne Lindsay (California State University, Sacramento) discusses her journey in public history, from an undergraduate, to a historic preservation internship, to graduate school, and beyond. Lindsay will discuss the exciting projects she has worked on, the work of history in the community, and how a public history perspective has changed her life on Thursday, November 8 at 7p.m. in Koren 217.
The Luther College Music Department
presents a Chamber Ensemble concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, Jenson-Noble Hall of Music, Noble Recital Hall.
The concert features musicians in the Noble Brass Quintet, the Wooden Miniatures Woodwind Quintet and the Saxophone Quartet. The program includes a diverse collection of instrumental groups performing chamber music. All ensembles are coached by Lynne Postudensek Hart and John Cord.

presents Luther's Jazz Band at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 8, in the Center for Faith and Life. The Jazz Band, directed by Jon Ailabouni, Luther adjunct faculty of music, will perform works by John Clayton, Dizzy Gillespie, Thad Jones, Sammy Nestico, Charlie Parker and Billy Strayhorn.The performance also includes one of the Luther jazz combos performing "Tight Knit," a piece written by Luther senior and tenor saxophonist, Peter Mathistad.

Jimmy Hoke
, visiting assistant professor of religion takes a look at Paul's letters as he discusses queerness in the Roman world of the first century C.E. in his Paideia Text and Issues lecture on November 6. Hoke's lecture will take place at 7 p.m. at the Center for Faith and Life, Recital Hall reception following in Qualley Lounge.
Discussing the connection
between personal and social transformation, David Loy, professor, writer and teacher of Japanese Sanbo Zen Buddhism, will present his lecture "Transforming Self, Transforming World: Buddhism and Social Justice" at 6 p.m. Thursday, November 8 in Valders Hall of Science, Room 206. The lecture is sponsored by the Luther College Religion Department.
