You're invited: Learn about District's Safety Action Plan on Oct. 29
We listened to you, and we're taking action. In the spring of 2018, Folsom Cordova held a series of forums for families, students, staff, community members, first responders and safety experts to come together and brainstorm improvements to school safety. The result of that collaboration is a comprehensive plan that provides a roadmap for short-term and long-term actions that will bolster school safety.

Regional planning agency accepting Youth Academy applications
Juniors and seniors are encouraged to get involved with the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG).
Having local representation on the youth academy is an important aspect of having student voices heard.

The academy cohort of high school students will provide input to the SACOG Board of Directors on the effects of policies, needs, programs, and budgets impacting the children and youth of the region as it relates to transportation, air quality, environmental and land use planning issues.  Academy members will solicit input from other peers in the community to better inform the SACOG Board member of their needs, perspectives, and requests.  They will be the ambassadors to SACOG.  If someone has an interest in these areas the academy would be perfect place for them to learn and grow.

Program Participation:
  • A minimum commitment of four hours per month
  • Attendance at four Saturday trainings in Sacramento
  • Attendance to at least one SACOG Board meeting held on the third Thursday of the month at  9:30 a.m.
