Girls on the Run - Administrator needed!
For about 15 years, Cossitt has offered the Girls on the Run program for Girls in Grades 3-5. Girls on the Run is a national organization whose mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. The program begins after Spring break, runs through early May, and culminates in a 5k race. Practices are after school, two days per week.

We have staff members who are interested in offering this program but we need a volunteer to serve as an administrator. You need not be a runner to help although running and CPR certification is a plus! Responsibilities for the position are primarily to be a conduit of information between Cossitt and the "Girls on the Run" organization, and to manage the communications to Cossitt coaches (the teachers) and participants about sign-up, practices, and race information. The Administrator does not have to attend practices, but is welcome to join in.

For more information or to take on this position, contact Vikki Morris or Rachel Galloway
Thank you!
A big congratulations to the fourth graders on their hard work to raise funds for their Extreme Weather CCC! Their fundraising efforts this year were directed toward real cases of extreme weather - helping victims of hurricanes Harvey and Irma through Habitat for Humanity. The fourth graders raised a total of $3,471.94! This amount was also matched by the company of a student's parent, so Habitat for Humanity will receive a grand total donation of $6,943.88! Great work, fourth graders!!

CPCFRO (Congress Park - Cossitt - Forest Road - Ogden) Winter Sports:  Boys Basketball and Girls Volleyball
Online Registration is Open! SIGN-UP TODAY!!

CPCFRO is an athletics program within District 102 that gives 5th and 6th graders of ALL skill  levels the opportunity to participate in Volleyball and Basketball in a fun and structured environment.

Our goal is to teach children the basic rules, skills, and strategies of each sport with an emphasis on  teamwork. Many children who play in CPCFRO have never played these sports beyond recess or gym. Teams  are formed by elementary school, with a skill assessment at each school to ensure balanced teams. While we  keep score during the game, we do not keep track of wins/losses in order to maintain the instructional focus
of the program.

Teams are coached by parent volunteers, and refereed by certified referees. Teams play 7-8 games a season.
Games will be played on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Game times can start at 6, 7, or 8 pm. The game  schedule is created randomly. Practice times, if any, are determined by the coach, Monday - Thursday.

Coaches Needed!

This is a great opportunity to coach your son or daughter! You schedule practices at your convenience. If you  have never coached, no problem...you can seek out a neighbor/friend as a co-coach, or we can match you up  with another parent at your home school. There is an option to volunteer when you register your kids to  play.
