Kelly D Norris
Director Des Moines Botanical Gardens
"Plants with Style"
Kelly D. Norris is an award-winning author and plantsman from Iowa and the director of horticulture and education at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, a newly revitalized public garden in Des Moines, Iowa. Throughout his career, his work has been featured in The New York Times, Organic Gardening, Better Homes and Gardens, Martha Stewart Living, Garden Design and in numerous local and regional media appearances. At the Botanical Garden, Kelly is responsible for leading and directing a team of horticulturists and educators in all aspects of design, curation, programming, and garden management, after serving as the principal horticulture consultant to the $18 million renovation project completed in 2014. In 2018, the American Horticultural Society awarded him the Emerging Horticultural Professional Award for significant achievements and leadership in American horticulture in the early stages of his career.

"Conifers for Today's Gardens"
Bob is a groundskeeper at the 173-acre Lange Estate in Ludlow Falls. He is a member of the American Conifer Society, current president of the Miami Valley Hosta Society, a member of the Miami Valley Water Garden Society and Ohio Valley North American Rock Garden Society. He lives in Englewood with his wife Karen. As you might imagine, his favorite pastime is gardening. His passion is dwarf and unusual conifers and currently he has more than 400. The gardens also showcase more than 400 hostas, 250 daylilies, rock garden plants, and many other rare and unusual perennials. He hosts Bob’s Garden Fair, a sale of rare and unusual conifers, trees, perennials and handmade garden art, each year on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. In 2018, there were 18 vendors from five states.
Judy Semroc

"Backyard Beauties: Attracting Uncommon Birds to Your Home Habitat"
Judy Semroc currently works in the Natural Areas Division for The Cleveland Museum of Natural History as a Conservation Specialist. She is the founder of Chrysalis in Time‚ the first Ohio chapter of the North American Butterfly Association (NABA). Judy has co-authored two natural history guides, "Dragonflies & Damselflies of Northeast Ohio” in 2008, and "Goldenrods of Northeast Ohio: A Field Guide to Identification & Natural History" in 2017. As a former Petroleum Geologist and science teacher, Judy loves to learn about and share her passion for the natural world through hikes, interpretive programs and photography.
