March 9th–17th In Anchorage, Alaska. Help support New England Juniors in their quest for individual and divisional success. We are looking for team players, both wily veterans and aspiring coaches, to create a fun and focused staff.

NENSA Fall Classic Rollerski Recap and Photos ~ Caitlin Patterson & Bill Harmeyer Overall Champions

This past Saturday over 170 Nordic skiers amped for winter strapped on a set of rollerskis to participate in the NENSA Rossignol Fall Rollerski Classic presented by Mansfield Nordic Club. It was a chilly morning replete with the first snow of the year on Mount Mansfield as a backdrop, but everyone in attendance was fired up and ready to race.

Please join the New England Nordic Ski Association for our 3rd annual Winter Kickoff Party!
The Winter KickOff Party
is from 3:30-6pm, immediately following the NENSA Trapp Invitational Rollerski Race (2pm start), will be held in the main floor of the von Trapp Bierhall. There will be an awesome Silent Auction and a Raffle, with many great prizes to be had! Appetizers and von Trapp beer included with entry. Awards at 4pm for the NENSA Trapp Invitational Race, as well as the season overall winners for the NENSA Bag Balm Rollerski Race Series (cash prizes for top 3 females and top 3 males), and the Marty Hall College Cup.
Please join us in bringing our Nordic skiing community together to celebrate the upcoming ski season, as we wrap up a very successful rollerski season. This is an opportunity to see old friends & meet new ones!
(Note: there is a special under 21 student rate ticket available also, for anyone under 21 not racing in the NENSA Trapp Invitational Rollerski Race - KickOff Party admission is included in the rollerski race fee)

On Saturday morning October 27th NENSA will be hosting the first open Rollerski Cross Country Cross event in the world. This exciting summer version of
Cross Country Cross
builds on aspects of both sprinting and agility. The event will take place at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, Maine.
The course will be set on a 400 meter loop
including 3 ramps (Bicycle, Speed Whoop and Step Down Jump) and other agility components including: 180 into backwards skiing, stop and start, Nokian Tyres – Figure 8, one-legged balance, grass skiing and several turning features including slalom. Skiers should be prepared for a course under 2 minutes in length – with sections of open skiing including a finish straight. All skiers will participate in instruction and qualification. The top 16 Open and Junior skiers will advance to single elimination rounds – advancing by heat time.

We’re very excited to announce that our NENSA Youth Skiing Symposium will be held at Holdnerness School in Holderness, NH on Sunday, October 28! This is a one day workshop aimed at Bill Koch League club leaders, coaches, and parent volunteers. The schdule will consist of morning speakers, afternoon team building exercises, and brunch in Holderness School’s dining hall. We are very happy to be working with Dr. Cheryl Coker, an expert on the subject of long term athlete development, who will be our keynote speaker for the day.

SafeSport Program
NENSA has always urged ALL New England coaches, parent volunteers, venue volunteers and anyone working with youth to take the SafeSport on-line course and get certified. NENSA has been requiring this of all our staff and volunteer coaches and wax techs at JN's and REG Camps for several years now. So please take time this fall to be sure all your club volunteers and coaches are SafeSport certified. Do it today.
The USOC provides a wide range of SafeSport resources, including
online education and awareness
. All coaches and those in a position of authority over athletes are required to take the online SafeSport course. To create an account with SafeSport, please use the following access code and follow the instructions on the SafeSport registration page.
