December 2018
A Letter from the Director...

Did you know that on average, 5 513 people walk through the library doors each month and that an average of 282 unique users check out materials? You may find it surprising that each month we issue approximately 77 new library cards and 250 books are added to our collection! When I analyze these numbers, one thing that stands out to me above and beyond all else is PASSION. The PASSION that is within the Library Staff, volunteers, Board Members, and patrons is evident in these statistics.

The holiday season is a busy time, yet the PASSION for helping each other, the PASSION for supporting each other, and the PASSION to make our community top-notch does not get lost in the holiday commotion.  The library's annual Holiday Basket Raffle opened on Saturday, December 1st. The number of local businesses, organizations, and personal donations reminds me of the PASSION for our library from the community.  As you shop for your friends and family over the next few weeks, do not forget to visit the local businesses represented in the library's Holiday Basket Raffle. These businesses offer amazing partnerships to local organizations and unique, quality goods and services to our community.

The PASSION of the library community is beaming like a strand of Christmas lights. The Library Staff is tirelessly providing patrons with desired materials, offering programs in and out of the library, and creating fun activities for everyone this holiday season. The patrons are grateful. The Library Board is working behind the scenes in so many capacities. In addition, the volunteers arrive with a smile, willing to do whatever we ask. Stop by the library while you are shopping the local merchants and witness the PASSION that the library community exhibits this holiday season.

Happy Holidays!

Holly Bennett
Library Director, Information Conductor, and Community Ambassador

GIVING THANKS
A gift to your library is a gift to yourself.
Over the years, patrons and friends of the Memorial Library of Nazareth and Vicinity have made contributions in a variety of ways. They have taken advantage of the opportunity to reduce the cost of gifts through tax savings, while at the same time maintaining or increasing their value to the library. Memorial and other special gifts are a meaningful way of paying tribute or recognizing a special achievement. Contributions to the Library are tax deductible.
