Please welcome The Rev. Caron Gwynn, our guest celebrant on Sunday at 5pm! Caron was previously the rector of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in DC. Before entering seminary, she was a Peace Corps volunteer in The Gambia, West Africa, and the Regional Cancer Control Director for the Washington metro area at the American Cancer Society, Inc. A native Washingtonian, three generations of her family worshipped at the historic St. Luke's Episcopal Church, the oldest African-American church in the Diocese. Sunday School and Children's Chapel 
In lieu of Sunday School, all are invited to to make a "Do not let your hearts be troubled..." paper craft during Coffee Hour. Supplies and directions will be on the Chapel gathering tables.
Multicultural Dialogues on Racism & Bias: Seeing the Divine in the Other . On Thursday, June 13th, 7pm - 9pm, Christ Church will host the last of three sessions sponsored by the Montgomery County Faith Community Advisory Council. Trained facilitators will lead exercises that raise our awareness of unconscious or learned biases, including racism, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, xenophobia, sexism, etc. Light refreshments at 6:30pm, Program 7 - 9pm. To attend, everyone must register by June 6th:Come get to know your neighbors - and yourselves - and help to build a stronger community of respect and understanding! 
Bethesda Cares Sandwich Brigade Needs Volunteers   As so many of our have youth grown up and moved away, many of the families who were members of the Sandwich Brigade have also move away. So our Sandwich Brigade is looking for more families to join in and all it takes is one Saturday, once a year! You would be making about 60 sandwiches and delivering them to Bethesda Cares Saturday morning. This is a great family activity (all ages), we provide full instructions and believe me, it’s not only fun, but rewarding! If you are interested, please contact Liz Quinn at webethemom@aol.com or 301-775-2545.

Newcomer Welcome Reception and Tour NEXT SUNDAY!   On Sunday, June 2nd, after the 10am service, there will be   a special reception to welcome newcomers in the Library (on the main level) near the Office Entrance Door. You will have a chance to meet other newcomers and several ministry leaders in the Congregation. The reception will be followed by a brief walking tour of the church’s building and grounds!  Interested? Saturday, June 1st is the 6th Annual Colleen's BA 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk to benefit the Colleen Mitchel Memorial Fund   The Fund was established in memory of Colleen Mitchel, who was born with biliary atresia (BA) in 1993, had a liver transplant at 7 months old, and died in 2013 at 19 years old from complications due to liver disease, while waiting on the transplant list over four years. Colleen was a member of Christ Church, and attended Grace Episcopal Day School, North Bethesda MS, Walter Johnson HS and the University of Michigan. Thanks to the Colleen Mitchel Memorial Fund and the annual BA 5K, over $130,000 has been donated to support organ donation awareness in the DC area and ground-breaking research at the Johns Hopkins Pediatric Center into the root cause of BA and improving outcomes of children living with liver disease and post-transplant! Prime Timers Luncheon on June 6 at 11:30AM!   Come join us for conversation, lunch and a presentation. This month’s topic: TREASON! – How Local Leaders Helped Launch the American Revolution.  Susan Cooke Soderberg is an independent historian and writer. She has a Master’s Degree in American Studies from George Washington University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History from the College of William and Mary. Her pursuit of the underlying truth of America's past has led her to intensive research into the history of American traditions and the continuing evolution and assimilation of America's myriad cultures. Pentecost on June 9: Plan to Wear Red and Celebrate with a Potluck Reception!  Please join us in the Undercroft on June 9th following the 10 a.m. service for a potluck reception for Pentecost, the Church's Birthday. Please help us celebrate and make this occasion festive and delicious by bringing a favorite sweet or savory dish to share. Ready to serve food can be dropped off in the kitchen before the service. Please note these Children's Ministry Program Dates:
·        June 2nd: Faith Rocks! On this last day of Sunday School, children will lead the congregation in the Lord's Prayer. All are invited to enjoy Coffee Hour and to decorate river rocks with encouraging words of faith--for home, for church, for sharing. 
·        June 9th: Pentecost!  Happy Birthday to the Church! Children's Chapel continues throughout the summer weeks. Sunday School resumes in mid-September.
·        July 8-12th: "God's Glorious Garden" Vacation Bible School. Registration and as youth/adult volunteer applications may be submitted by emailing Ann Enkiri at sundayschool@ccpk.org .
