Kathy Roper & Sally Holmes are all smiles at "Moonlight with the Swingin' Medallions", 2018
Ten years ago, Sally Holmes joined the staff of Georgia’s Old Capital Museum as Museum Manager. With her vast repertoire of skills and experience, she quickly became indispensable in every aspect of the Museum’s operation. She has been the welcoming face in the front office, the gracious voice at the end of the phone, has managed the Museum finances, recruited volunteers, organized tours, presented programs, made untold numbers of brownies and cookies, set up exhibits, typed texts, set up thousands of tables and chairs and taken down an equal number, spearheaded our most successful fundraisers, remained a rock through our relocation and renovation, and contributed to the success of this museum in thousands of untold ways.

On December 6 th, Sally retired as Museum Manager to have more time for her growing family (especially her 4 grandsons and new grand-daughter), traveling with Mike, and volunteer work. Thankfully, she will still be part of the Museum staff, but as a consultant putting her expertise to work making the Museum fundraisers more exciting than ever!

Baldwin County School District’s Annual Literacy Fair
Looking for a FUN and EDUCATIONAL event for your children and grandchildren? Mark your calendar for Baldwin County School District’s Literacy Fair on Saturday, January 26th, 10 am-1 pm, at the Milledgeville Mall. Visit the Museum booth, and learn more about the Creek Indians that roamed this area. Make a shell necklace, have a picture made with the Museum’s real black bear (stuffed for safety reasons!), and enter our “Name the Bear”
Contest.

Wanted: Museum volunteers for the event! Contact Amy at awright@oldcapitalmuseum.org or 478-453-1803.
