2019 Science Camps Start July 1!
Science Camps for Teens, Grades 8-12, Hawaii Island
Land & Sea Camp: July 1-10 Air & Space Camp: July 11-20
Science Camp for Teens is returning in 2019 with two sessions. LAND & SEA, July 1-10, gets you out onto the mountains, into the forests, along the shores, and into the waters of Hawaii Island. At AIR & SPACE you'll visit observatories, explore rocketry, astronomy, space exploration, and the atmosphere. All while meeting scientists and learning and doing hands-on science. Known as "the world's greatest outdoor laboratory," Hawaii Island is the perfect place to spend part of the summer.
You'll visit some of the most spectacular environments anywhere: the alpine slopes of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa, the native forests and fabulous waterfalls of the Hamakua coast, the wild shoreline at South Point, and the incredible black sand beach of Punalu'u.
On any day at Science Camp you might build and launch rockets, snorkel with sea
turtles, build your own test equipment, hike across a volcano, star-gaze atop a volcano, design a Mars habitat, explore a cave, debate the consequences of climate change, or even get buried in black sand!
