From Your Councilmember
Yesterday, I attended a panel discussion presented by our Employee Inclusion Network on the subject of living the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  The panel was comprised of city employees who told of the impact the life of Dr. King has had on their personal and professional lives.  It was both educational and moving to hear from employees about being the first men and women of color in our police and fire departments, or marrying across racial lines, or spending a career helping economically disadvantaged families secure safe housing, improve their neighborhoods, and live their own versions of our American Dream.  I remain immensely proud of our employees for the deep concern for others they bring to work with them every day, and for the ways they keep the legacy of Dr. King alive in our city and in their families.

Enjoy your weekend!
