As seen in Quilt Sampler
The Quilt Sampler featured "Simply Southwest" quilt has returned to Hip Stitch and was useful given the late spring storms that dogged the road trip from Quilt Market in Kansas City back to Albuquerque.

We missed the tornadoes and dodged the softball-sized hail to bring back samples from the show.

Latest trends talk TODAY: Saturday at 10:30 -- a brief overview and recap of what's on the way.

  • Who is using a new brand of solid fabrics?
  • Who's coming to Hip Stitch to teach?
  • What's now trending?
  • What did we order?

You'll hear this and more. Your copy of Quilt Sampler, with a 30 percent coupon, is waiting in the store.
Final week -- let's see what you've made!

Any project from this year: quilt, apparel, toys, household items, we want to see.

Sandra walked the blue rug . . .

(We're just a little fabric shop in Albuquerque, all that high falutin' "red carpet" stuff is for the fancy fine film folks in Hollywood and New York.)

Anyway, Sandra took her turn on the blue rug in a blue gingham which would probably have Glenda's wicked sister surrendering herself instead of skywriting nasty-grams to Dorothy.

Ready for a Memorial Day picnic. Nice work, Sandra -- love the color-matched Chucks, too!

We've been known to reckon some of your work as being easily $100, $200 or $300 at a boutique. Well, check this website and see if anything looks familiar.

Fiber Arts Fiesta
It's time for the biennial Fiber Arts Fiesta and that means you'll get to see some of the finest work produced by local artisans and crafters.

It's our privilege to support the Fiber Arts Council by renting a booth. As a proud Fiber Arts Fiesta vendor, we look forward to seeing your happy face!

We'll have show specials and Cherrywood Hand-dyed Fabrics, Quilt Sampler magazines, Jerry's Jellyroll Jigs and so much more!

See you there!

Quick Quilt Club
Learn to be a Jack (or Jill) of Diamonds
Though it may be a hard, hard card to find, you can win new skills in this class.

The 60 degree diamond -- more accurately, a rhombus -- is the basis for many quilt blocks. You can make cubes, stars, optical illusions and so much more. Literally HUNDREDS of quilt patterns are based on this cut.

You'll master both tools and techniques in this series with Cindy. Choose from one of the two session classes or the all day class on the 22nd. As with all classes, you'll save on purchases; join the Quick Quilts Club and you'll save 20 percent.

This course with Jennifer Berg is for lucky kids and their parents, grandparents or some other reasonably responsible adult.

Your youngster will learn the basics of knitting (and we're willing to grant that you might, too!)

For 8-15 year olds, looking for a project this summer, knitting is a great distraction over the summer break, but the skills may carry them toward a lifetime hobby.

Join this crew to learn how to make scarves and hats. Learn to Cast On, Knit, Purl, and make hats, cowls and scarves.

Limited seats remain. Don't delay.
