Marijuana & the Massapequas
|
In recent weeks, the
Nassau County Task Force on Marijuana Legalization and Regulation
have held hearings to discuss the impact of legalization of marijuana on Nassau County. MTAC and its partners have and continue to testify regarding the danger marijuana poses to the health and public safety of our children, teens, young adults and families.
We encourage all residents to attend these hearings and discuss their viewpoints
.
To further educate our community, MTAC will host the educational forum,
Marijuana Legalization: Lessons Learned from Colorado
on Thursday, March 14th at 7:00 p.m. at Massapequa High School. Our speaker, Dale Quigley, is Deputy Coordinator of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program's National Marijuana Initiative (
thenmi.org
).
After Colorado legalized marijuana for both medical and recreational purposes, it continues to have numerous adverse consequences to areas of Public Health and Public Safety.
We encourage all parents and residents to attend this program to further understand the consequences that lie ahead for our families and community.
