Club Chartering Information DUE 8/31/2020!

Your club or committee’s chartering documents must be emailed to Jean at jwalton@arapahoegov.com by August 31st! We will then upload your documents into 4HOnline for you.  Leaders need to completely fill out the chartering packet and send it to us. Electronic signatures are acceptable. All document signers must be enrolled and activated in 4HOnline! You do not have to upload the documents in 4HOnline.

Please note that ALL clubs MUST use the 2020 bylaws template the State has provided. No Exceptions. Articles I, IX and X in the club bylaws must match the template word for word or your bylaws will not be accepted. You cannot change, delete or add anything to those articles. For the 2021 - 2022
4-H year, you will not have to resubmit the bylaws if nothing has changed.

If your club dissolves, please note that we have to have a statement from the bank showing your club account has been closed and has a zero balance. If your club doesn't have a bank account, just include a note that there was no previous bank account. We also need a completed club dissolution form, which can be found on the chartering documents page.
Please engage your club members (virtually) in developing and updating your Annual Plan, Budget, and Financial Review. This is an IRS requirement of all 4-H clubs, committees and other entities. All of us at the county and state level are doing our best to make the process as easy and painless as possible. Thank you for your continued effort and work towards building a strong 4-H program in Arapahoe County. We hope this reminder allows you some time to start to prepare to get this accomplished. Click on the button above to access the chartering documents. We are here to support you, so please let us know if we can help in any way.
Achievement Awards
The deadline for achievement specific awards is Friday, August 28. Please check the website for applications for Danforth Award, Learn By Doing and Make the Best Better. Click on the image to the left to go to the website.
Christmas In August/September! Not July!

The Arapahoe County 4-H Foundation is preparing for the annual Holiday Evergreen sale.

The 4-H Foundation’s annual budget is $36,900.00. In order to meet this budget, it depends upon the Holiday Evergreen sale, donations from Friends of 4-H and other gifts.

Four college scholarships in the amount of $4,000 are given each year. The
4-H Foundation also sponsors the leader/member awards, Tools of the Project for county fair champions and reserve champions and the meal for the Achievement Awards program. It supports training for 4-H members and leaders and picks up contest fees at State 4-H Conference and State Fair and helps promote 4-H.

In order to provide funding for these activities, it relies heavily on the Holiday Evergreen sale and is asking for the support of 4-H clubs and families. The Foundation also reaches out to the public to sell holiday evergreens.
Sale materials will go out to 4-H Club leaders the last week of September. The deadline for orders this year has been extended to Friday, October 30. 4-H Clubs are also asked to send the name of their wreath sale chairperson to Kathy McDaniel, 303-919-2177 or Larrykathy4@aol.com.

We are asking that all 4-H leaders and members help with this fund raiser.
2020 4-H Achievement Program

Hello 4-H Families! We had hoped to provide a normal Achievement Program this year, but we will have to alter the program to follow restrictions and guidelines due to COVID-19. We will still provide recognition on Thursday, October 8 but will it will look different! We plan to have a recognition slide show/video that will be played while you pick up awards at the fairgrounds on October 8.  You, as a family, will sign up in Sign Up Genius for a specific time to come and pick up your awards. The pick-up times will be in fifteen minute increments from 2 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Please note that if you arrive early, you will be asked to wait until your specific time before you can enter the Main Hall. We will have all the awards organized and separated so you can pick up your special awards, grand champion awards, tools of the project, and/or ribbons and awards that we were unable to distribute during the 4-H Completion Events due to the pandemic.

There will not be a meal provided as you as a family will be coming at a scheduled time (like mentioned above) but we hope to provide families with a celebratory bag of cookies that you can take with you to celebrate with dessert at home.

Please click on the image above to go to Sign-up genius to schedule a time for your family. If you are unable to make it, please check with another family or your club's organizational leader to see if they can pick up your family's items for you.

Please park on the North side of the Main Hall and enter through the doors on the North Side. Do NOT park or enter on the South side as we have to check every family in to make sure we are following all COVID-19 related protocols. Once you enter on the North side, you must check in with Jean. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

Project Photos Needed

We would love some photos of our 4-H members with their projects for the recognition video. We know that some of our FCS and General kiddos had already sent photos but for any of our 4-H members that have not shared photos with us please send them to Shaylen Florez, sflorez@arapahoegov.com

Thank you for your continued support and patience during this time. We look forward to seeing some familiar faces on October 8.
PUEBLO, Colo. — The Colorado State Fair is calling all kids to head to the 2020 State Fair Day Camp–from the safety of their own homes. The virtual, first-ever State Fair camp will be held on four afternoons from Monday, August 31 through Thursday, September 3, beginning at 3:30 p.m. each day.

The program is designed for students in grades 3-5, and younger children are welcome to participate with older family members. The content-rich, fair-themed programming will feature animals and visits from Colorado Parks and Wildlife, fun activities from entertainers Circus Imagination, youth ag education with Colorado State University students and the Colorado Foundation for Agriculture, fair food demonstrations with chef Jason Morse, and much more.

The virtual camp is free and will be livestreamed on the Colorado State Fair website each afternoon. The sessions will also be recorded for future viewing and accessible on the website. After completing the sessions, campers will have the opportunity to apply to become a Junior Colorado State Fair Ambassador at the 2021 State Fair. Selected Junior Ambassadors will receive a care package with credentials, a pass to the 2021 Colorado State Fair, ambassador certificate, and other treats.

End of Year 4-H Survey
Please take a moment to complete the Arapahoe County CSU Extension 4-H End of Year Survey for the 2019 - 2020 4-H year. It's only 7 questions, so it shouldn't take very long. This data will be used to help us as we prepare to start the new 2020 - 2021 4-H year. Click on the image to the right to access the survey. Thanks for your input!
New 4-H Year Enrollment Update
We want to make 4-H families aware that enrollment for the 2020 - 2021
4-H year will not be available until November 1.

Our 4HOnline system is being updated at the State level to 4HOnline v2.0, so that process will take some time.

Please be patient as we get familiar with the new system. Again, enrollment will not be available until November 1
State Fair Results
State Fair results are now available! Please click on the image to the right to view them. Please note that because our FCS & General projects were judged virtually, the results for those will be under the "virtual exhibits" link. Congratulations to all of our State Fair participants!
Face to Face Programming Request Policy

We appreciate your patience as we work to continue to offer high quality 4-H programming in Arapahoe County. As of May 16, 2020, CSU Extension has directed that we will continue virtual delivery for a vast majority of our programming. For those activities that are not able to be completed virtually, such as shooting sports practices (with certified shooting sports leaders), horse levels testing, horse practices, dog practices, and livestock clinics, CSU Extension will permit in-person activities that comply with all federal, state, and local regulations and public health guidance. At this time, this does NOT include 4-H club meetings, those will still need to be held virtually at this time. Please email our 4-H staff if you have questions about specific activities.

If you are interested in hosting an event, you must contact Arapahoe County Extension Staff at least TWO WEEKS prior to the event. This will allow for the office to develop a program plan request to be submitted to CSU Extension Administration and State 4-H. All activities must be submitted to CSU Extension administration prior to the event, 4-H staff will work with leaders on the required documentation for these programs. These activities will also adhere to CSU policies in support of public health and safety. Our ultimate goal is to remain relevant, strong partners within our Colorado communities, while also supporting their health and safety.

As part of Arapahoe County Government’s gradual facilities reopening plan, the Arapahoe County CSU Extension Office is now open by APPOINTMENT ONLY. We will not be able to accept walk-in clients at this time. Please email individual 4-H staff members to set up an appointment. Thank you!
