Net Neutrality
Last week Hawaii Gov. David Ige signed an executive order, directing all state government agencies to contract for internet-related services only with providers who contractually agree to abide by net neutrality principals.
"An open internet is critically important to our people and our economy, connecting us to the rest of the world, increasing our commerce, fostering innovation, and adding to our economic growth," Ige said in a statement. "I have worked with my cabinet members, members of the House and other stakeholders to protect the integrity of this critical resource."
"For those who want to live in Hawai'i, probably no issue is more challenging than finding a decent, affordable place to live. And probably no issue challenges us as a society more than the daily sight of those who are now living on our streets and in our parks."
