St.Rose Annual Christmas Concert & Pageant
Thursday Night - December 20th - 7 PM
All K - 8th students arrive to their classrooms by 6:45 PM
Students do not go to the gym.
All students should wear dressy Christmas attire.
Parents - go to the school gym, and enjoy the show!
Parents pick up their children IN THE CLASSROOM after the show.

Students may wear their favorite Christmas attire - funny sweaters, etc. (all within the guidelines of school dress code please!)

Epicurean Hot Lunch Program
Epicurean is listening to you! Recently, we arranged for Epicurean to meet with a few of our students in groups to discuss 'What's Hot and What's Not!'
Look for fresh menu additions in coming months and in January, a parent survey will go out through the weekly newsletter.
Effective immediately however, you can now order your child's lunches every week by THURSDAY cut off for the next week. No more need to order weeks in advance!
If you haven't yet tried the new lunch program, remember, an email was sent to all parents with your child's assigned Student ID number for ordering. If you've misplaced that email, give Ms. KC a call, to retrieve the information. Ordering is so easy at: mymealorder.com

Dear Parents,
Next to Easter, Christmas is the holiest day of the year. For most of us, family tradition, the age of our children and other time constraints dictate which Mass we choose to attend on Christmas. No matter how tired or stressed I have felt from all of the preparations that were necessary to get my family there on time, there is always a joyous anticipation evident as the congregation crowds into the pews awaiting the beginning of Mass and the good news of His coming.
Just as we observe the Easter Triduum with distinct services, there are also three different celebrations of the Mass on Christmas, each telling a different aspect of the Christmas story. The Christmas Eve Mass, celebrated after dark, mirrors the state of the world as we wait for the light of Christ to enter. It is called the
Mass of the Angels because it was the angels who heralded the good news of the savior's birth. The early morning Christmas Day Mass at dawn draws the parallel to Christ as the sun. The responsorial psalm,
"A light will shine on us this day: the Lord is born for us." is followed by the shepherds hastening to meet the newborn king and then sharing the news with others. This liturgy has traditionally been called the Shepherds' Mass. Masses that take place in the full light of day celebrate the Kingship of the Lord as the entire world becomes aware of the saving power of God. The gospel reading for the
Kings' Mass calls all the people of earth, symbolized by kings arriving from afar, to come and worship the newborn messiah.
Attending Mass with your children on Christmas and helping them to stay focused on the real reason for the season is the best way you can counteract the rampant materialism that comes at us from all angles during this time of year. Once all the gifts are opened, you can take your own stand by helping them to see that the best things in life are those that money just can't buy.
In closing, I wish you and your entire family a blessed and joyous Christmas. May all of God's most bountiful blessings be yours in 2019. I am so grateful to be associated with the wonderful faith community of St. Rose School and I thank you for allowing us to be partners with you in your children's education.

Parking Lot Safety
Safety First depends on your cooperation!
Please remember, and tell all those in your family who drive onto our campus, to please drive safely!
Some important safety reminders:
- Be patient. Drive slow. Be kind. Do not impede traffic flow or others.
- If your child goes to tutorial, do not get in the pick up line before 3:10 pm. Do not sit in the traffic circle waiting. Circle around back in line to keep traffic flow moving.
- DO NOT leave your car unattended in the traffic circle during drop off or pick up. Stay in your car and move as soon as your child gets in or out. If you have office business, please park in a designated parking spot.
- Morning drop off: everyone is in a hurry it seems to get to where they need to go. Please do not speed through campus. Do not pass unlawfully or unsafely. Be patient. Plan accordingly.
- If a staff member asks you to move your car or to park, they are doing what is in the best interests of everyone and to keep traffic moving. Please be respectful and do what they ask of you.

Important Health reminders for All

Cold & Flu Season is HERE!
Have y'all gotten your flu shots?
- Child must be Fever Free for 24 hours without medication before coming to school!
- Keep children home if they have excessive coughing, or thick or constant nasal discharge.
- Keep children home if they aren't feeling well. A child who isn't feeling well, does not function well in the classroom, and likely will be sent home.
- Please reinforce with your children to cover their mouth when coughing, and to wash hands frequently.
Any medications your child needs to take during the school day, including cough drops, must be brought to the school office by the parent, and an Authorization to Administer form completed.
By law, we are not allowed to administer medication of any kind without written parental consent.

PLEASE NOTIFY THE OFFICE OF THE FOLLOWING
- Pink Eye / Conjunctivitis is contagious Notify the school office if your child is diagnosed. 24 hour antibiotic treatment is required before returning to school.
- Head Lice is contagious. Notify the school office if your child has contracted. Child may return to school 24 hours after receiving treatment.

Strep Throat is contagious
Notify the school office if your child has been diagnosed. Must be treated with antibiotics for 24 hrs, and feeling better before coming back to school.
