GOC High School students on campus for CORE Labs
Principal's Message

Recently, GOC high school students were administered the ACT in English, math, reading and science. This test assesses students' general education development and colleges and universities use these scores to predict how well students will perform at the post-secondary level.

It is with great pride I share with you that GOC scored second in the district. Gwinnett County Public Schools exceeded the state (21.6) and national (20.8) average with a composite score of 22.6.  GOC students scored 25.5! The data continues to show that Online We Learn Successfully! You may find the full story in the Gwinnett Daily Post.

We are looking forward to a wonderful evening tonight and hope to see many students and families at our Family Fall Festival from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Next week,  October 23-25, students and teachers will have the opportunity to experience Virtual Week. Students  will not be coming to campus for Labs or Campus Time. Virtual learning will utilize  Adobe Connect software for this learning opportunity. Our teachers and tech team are prepared to make this a productive week of learning!   Students, please make sure that you do your part to contribute to a successful learning experience by being ready and willing to participate in each of your virtual classes. This is a great   opportunity to  "Power your Potential!"

Grades 4-12: Virtual Week

Gwinnett Online Campus is excited to offer GOC Virtual Week next week!

Students - please feel free to use these

During this unique educational experience:
  • Teachers will run their regularly scheduled interactive labs
  • Teachers will also be offering extra virtual office hours to increase personalized instruction
Important Items to Know:

  1. Students are virtual all week - they do not report to campus.
    • We have had a great week practicing for virtual week here on campus.
  2. Please help your child navigate through their regular virtual week schedule  while at home.
  3. Encourage your child to carefully read the news announcements in EACH class as teachers will be offering extra office hours to help students go above and beyond.
  4. When your child has a virtual session, he/she will need:
    • To know his/her personal schedule
    • A computer with webcam
    • A headset with working microphone to hear and speak clearly
    • To enter the online room early to run the audio setup wizard
    • To contact his/her teacher if any questions arise prior to live sessions beginning
    • To get excited because teaching and learning is going to be a different experience

If you encounter technical difficulties, please follow your normal troubleshooting procedures:
  1. Is there a pop-up blocker in the top right corner that you need to allow to run?
  2. Please clear your cache
  3. Please try another browser - we recommend using Chrome
  4. Restart your entire computer
Adobe Login Reminder:

  • Your Adobe Connect Login
is your student email address prior to it changing this semester. For example - e123456789@g.gcpsk12.org
  • Your Adobe Connect password is whatever you setup during orientation or during this past week's virtual practice.

Virtual Week Fall 2018 is going to be awesome! Please know your schedule, have those webcams on, be ready to speak when called upon, and prepare to virtually engage with dynamic technological tools!
Grades 4-12: Bring your Student ID Badges!

We need your help!  Students, please remember to bring your ID with you each time you visit the campus. Your badge is your electronic access to check-in and check-out of the building.  It is an expectation that each and every student bring their photo ID Badge with them every time they plan to be on campus. When students do not have badges it slows down the entry and exit process. It also means that manual entries must be made taking staff time away from other important duties. Thank you for your attention to this important procedure!

Students who consistently forget to bring their ID Badge to campus will be re-issued a new card and charged a $5 replacement fee. This fee will be automatically added to the students MyPaymentsPlus account.
Grades 4-12: 2018-19 RBES Parent Perception Survey

Parents, we encourage you to take a few moments to complete the 2018-19 RBES Parent Perception Survey.

Please log into your students  GCPS Parent Portal account to access the survey. The purpose of the survey is to gather feedback from parents about the quality of education that each school is providing. Survey responses are anonymous and results will only be reported in summarized form.

The survey  will be vailable beginning  Monday, October 22  through  Friday, November 16 .
