HENRY FORD MACOMB NAMED A TOP HOSPITAL BY THE LEAPFROG GROUP
Henry Ford Macomb Hospital has been named a Top Hospital for patient safety and quality by The Leapfrog Group, along with Henry Ford Hospital and Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital.

Henry Ford's hospitals were among 118 to earn the designation from nearly 1,900 hospitals nationally and only four in Michigan. NON-PROFIT NETWORK: New Name, New Time, New Focus
Our Non-Profit Network group will  begin meeting in the new year on the second Tuesday of the month at 9 am at MORC, 16200 19 Mile Rd., Clinton Twp.  This group has a new name, new time and new focus with structure. We're excited to bring this group to the next level, and to kick off the new year, we will feature Erika DeLange, Executive Director for the Marine City Area Chamber of Commerce who has more than 10 years of nonprofit fundraising experience. Various groups she has helped organize fundraisers for over the years include All the World's A Stage, Leadership Macomb, her son's travel hockey team, and an annual benefit run for a friend battling cancer. The types of events organized included bowling fundraisers, banquets, golf outings, 5K runs and vendor/craft shows. As the executive director for the Marine City Area Chamber, she is well versed in what it takes to help raise funds and perpetuate the organization. Erika is looking forward to sharing her fundraising knowledge with Sterling Heights Regional Chamber non-profit members on January 8, 2019 at 9 am. Bring your fundraising ideas and questions, and be ready to explore the FUN in fundraising!

I-696 RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT UPDATE FROM MDOT:

We are getting close, but there is still some work to do before I-696 can be opened safely in both directions. Unpredictable winter weather precludes MDOT from announcing an exact date at this time. Information posted to MDOT's MiDrive will be updated for the time being to show lane closures extending into early January, however, every effort is being focused on reopening EB and WB I-696 as soon as possible. Until then, traffic will continue to be staged in its current configuration. While all the necessary protective measures continue to be employed, we are experiencing prolonged concrete cure times in these colder temperatures. Placement of the travel lanes, ramps, valley gutter and shoulders continue in earnest while we prepare to switch traffic back to normal operations. Shoulder completion and other miscellaneous work may continue under intermittent lane closures once traffic is restored to normal.
