“Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”

We are happy to be staging a spring musical this year, "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory!" Roles will be available for students 2nd - 8th Grade, and auditions for speaking parts will be held during December. For those who do not want to audition but would still like a part, involvement in chorus is by signup, and an email will be going out before the winter break containing details of how to do this. There will also be a backstage crew, responsible for set, lighting and props. Please contact Mrs. Saunders if your child would be interested in helping out backstage.

Rehearsals will be after school on selected Tuesdays and Thursdays for main parts, and several Tuesdays for chorus. To avoid children being at rehearsals that do not directly involve them, they will only be called on specific dates, rehearsal schedules will be sent out weekly in advance.

We hope that many students participate!
Hoodie Arrival!
If you ordered a Peabody Panther hoodie for your child, they were distributed last week! Please take a moment and sharpie your child's name onto the sweatshirt label so they don't get lost in our lost and found. Thank you for ordering!
Talent Show Update

We wanted to remind you that Talent Show auditions for K-5 will happen during class and recess time Monday - Wednesday of next week (11/12 - 11/14). Please remind your local musicians to come prepared for auditions.

Also, we wanted to let you know that the K-5 Talent Show is scheduled for Friday, November 30 and it will take place at the inside performance space at IX Art Park. We're excited about the improved acoustics, ease of parking, and neighborhood food/drink options that the IX has to offer. The show will start at 5:30pm.  Please contact Mr. Wyatt or Ms. Fennessy with any questions!
Food Chemistry

The 6th graders are starting to learn about food on a molecular level. Their first food based chemistry project was create something that depended on salt for more than just taste. This video shows Gabe, Ellena, and Caroline as they pickled cucumbers with no salt, the requisite amount of salt, or double salt to demonstrate the importance of salt in the pickling process.
