CAREER CAFE
The counselors are starting a new program this month called Career Café which runs from now until June. Each month, 2-3 career speakers will visit the NMS library to speak to small groups of students in each grade. Speakers will share information about their job, career path, education, and what they do on a daily basis. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable insight about the connection between school and the real world of work. There are 16 total career speakers, one for each of the 16 Career Clusters. Students already signed up to attend one speaker.

Students will be given a pass so they can get their lunch and report to the library on the day of their speaker. They will also be given FIVE stamps on their PBIS stamp card to reward them for participating in this program. Below are the career clusters represented. The specific speakers are not all finalized yet, but will be in the field listed below. If students are interested in a speaker/career cluster and did not get a slot, they should come to the counseling center and sign up for an extra spot (there will be some available for each speaker) or contact their grade level counselor.

We appreciate your support in helping our students gain valuable information about the world of work!

Career Clusters
Marketing, Finance, Hospitality/Tourism, Health Science, Information Technology, Art/AV/Technology & Communications, Agriculture/Food and Natural Resources, Law/Public Safety, Business Management, Education and Training, Government and Public Administration, Manufacturing, Architecture and Construction, STEM, Human Services, Transportation and Distribution

Career Development through Naviance - We are pleased to introduce Naviance at Northley Middle School.
