When we PARTNER efforts of COMPASSION we can advance the mission to redeem vulnerable children and families.

"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.  For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow.  But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, ESV)

"Again, I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it shall be done for them by my Father in heaven.  For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them." (Matthew 18:19-20, ESV)

Doors of opportunity for COMPACT are emerging!  The devil doesn't like it and works to thwart ministry advancement.  However, God is moving on our behalf and calling us by his Spirit to invite and engage strategic partnership with those who believe in our mission and vision.  We need partners of PRAYER and FAITH to win the 2018 opportunities and challenges before us on behalf of underdog and hurting children.

Opportunity abounds.  Don't let the missing link be you.

2017 SUMMARY MINISTRY REPORT
God's Word is replete with the call and command to love and care for vulnerable children!

Deuteronomy 10:18 says, "[God] executes justice for the fatherless..."

James 1:27 says, "Pure religion...is to take care of the orphan..."

Mark 1:41 says, "Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out..."

In John 14:18 Jesus says, "I will not leave you as orphans..."

Assemblies of God COMP ACT Family Services is answering the call.  It is an amazing ministry and mission field.  The daily mission meets unique challenges, costs and sacrifices.  2017 was another effective year of COMPACT ministries including Hillcrest Children's Home, Highlands Maternity Home, Foster Care, and CompaCare delivering timely redeeming care, love and hope for abused, abandoned, homeless, neglected, or otherwise maltreated children and youth.

With incredible staff, facilities, and improving programs of ministry, 2017 was a rewarding year of ministry.  Here are a some highlights among many works.

God says he is a "Father of the fatherless" (Psalm 68:5).  As such, when the fatherless are brought to the Father, they are orphaned no more.

God loves underdog children and the dedicated staff given to this ministry!  The Holy Spirit is with us!  We invite you to continue your partnered prayer and giving in 2018 as we endeavor on behalf of vulnerable children and families who so greatly need Jesus, healing, and hope!

There is more and better ahead,

CINDY* & MIRANDA* SAVED & BAPTIZED
WILMOTH COTTAGE FLOODED & UNDER REPAIR

Cindy* is a new resident in Wilmoth Cottage.  She mentioned to houseparents' Michael and Elizabeth that she desired to be water baptized.  So, on a Monday morning, Michael and Elizabeth sat down with Cindy* and asked her if she knew what it meant to be saved and follow Jesus.  Cindy* said "I'm there! I'm saved! I want to be baptized!"  The Burden's then also explained water baptism.

Meanwhile, Miranda* came into the room and expressed that she wanted to be baptized.  The Burdens asked Miranda* if she had asked Jesus to be her Lord and Savior.  She said, "No, but I'm ready."  So, they led Miranda* in a prayer of surrender to Jesus.  Then the entire cottage of girls went to the church on that Monday evening where a warm baptistry awaited.  The two girls, Cindy* and Miranda*, were baptized in water as their peers witnessed.

The next night, on a Tuesday evening, Lilly*, whose mom died last October, asked Elizabeth to braid her hair before bed.  Lilly* was vocally blaming God for her mother's death and embittered.  Elizabeth was able to minister to her and pray for her that night.  Altogether, Elizabeth prayed with 7 of the 9 girls in Wilmoth Cottage at bedtime.

The next morning, due to extreme freezing temperatures, a sprinkler system pipe in the attic broke and flooded the cottage.   However, the flood of God's recent work in the hearts of the residents was greater than the sprinkler flood.  The whole campus came to the rescue and helped move the residents and belongings to an adjacent home while the girls were at school.  After school, as Wednesday evening church approached, Miranda* expressed that she wanted to go to Wednesday night church rather than reorganize because she "needed to have her Jesus time!" And encouraged other girls to go as well!

Damage to the Wilmoth Cottage is estimated at $42,000.  Repairs are underway.  Please pray for God's supply to restore the home for these girls!

Despite a sprinkler flood and other occasional challenges, God is doing great things!  There is purpose in it all!  Your prayers and gifts are enabling it!!!

SIBLING HOUSEPARENTS
We are hiring Houseparents for a sibling cottage!

COMPACT takes pride in the ability to bring siblings together. Over the years we have seen hundreds of siblings reunited on our campus. Large sibling groups from broken homes are often separated and unable to see each other. Here at COMPACT, we have the ability to bring these groups together by putting them in a sibling cottage. We teach them how to love like a sibling and give them the opportunity to grow and heal together.
Join us as Houseparents for a group of siblings and help us reunite vulnerable children and family.
