MESSAGE FROM THE CITY MANAGER
Welcome to the March edition of Your City @ Work, a monthly online newsletter. Our goal is to keep you up to date on pending issues and actions before the City Commission so that you can participate in the decision making process. We hope you will find this form of communication educational and informative.

CITY NEWS
CITY HALL SITE LOCATION
LISTENING SESSION
On March 19, Harvard Jolly Architecture will provide an update on the status and schedule of the new Dunedin City Hall project.

COMMUNITY SUSTAINABILITY PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM
In 2017 the City of Dunedin partnered with the Community Sustainability Partnership Program (CSPP) at USF to develop strategic plans to address six critical factors effecting the City: Carbon Footprint, Perils of Flood, Sea Level Rise, Solar Energy, State Road 580 and Affordable Housing. On February 5 th , 2019 City Staff updated the City Commission regarding progress to date on the goals and recommendations agreed upon when the plans were adopted.

VISIONING LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE CHANGES
In August 2017 the City conducted second Visioning Exercise designed to build on the work done since the 2005 Visioning. The City hosted fourteen public meetings and an online survey to support the goal of maximum citizen participation. 517 Dunedin residents participated in a consultant-led SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) analysis, preference survey, and map exercise. In the fall of 2017, the data was complied and analyzed to create the 2017 Visioning Report.

The City Commission discussed the 2017 Visioning Report at their February, 21, 2019 meeting.
BUDDY BAG PROGRAM
Dunedin Parks & Recreation and The Youth Advisory Committee are collecting "Buddy Bags" for youth in foster care. The Youth Advisory Committee is comprised of eleven middle school and high school teens committed to making a difference in their community. Help fill a "Buddy Bag" and support children in foster care. Donations will be accepted through March 31.

BLUE JAYS IMPROVEMENTS UPDATE
Get updates on the improvements to the Dunedin Stadium and expansion of the Player Development Complex.

TAKE A LOOK BACK
ACHIEVA PAW PARK GRAND OPENING
The City of Dunedin and Achieva Credit Union came together to enhance and expand the Achieva Paw Park.

CRA 30th ANNIVERSARY
On February 16 as we celebrated the 30th Anniversary of Downtown Dunedin and the great success of a community working together.

TORONTO BLUE JAYS
OPENING DAY
The Toronto Blue Jays played the Tigers for their first game of Spring Training at Dunedin stadium.

MARCH 5

Celebrate with food, drink, music and a parade featuring over 50 unique colorful floats. Parade starts at 7pm.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY
MARCH 16 & 17

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a two day street festival in downtown Dunedin. Enjoy music, vendors and more.

This month I wanted to share my thoughts on the Short Term Rental decision that the City Commission made at our February 19, 2019 City Commission Workshop.

FUNEDIN FACT
The Dunedin Yacht Club was created in 1903 and had a three day racing competition where the sailor with the best record of all the races would win the Malone Competitive Cup. N.S. Bouton was the first winner of said cup on March 31, 1903.
