Nevada Day is a state holiday in Nevada and 
celebrated on the last Friday of October each year. Before 2000, Nevada Day was celebrated on the Day of Admission to the United States, Oct. 31.
The day commemorates Nevada's frontier legacy and its entry into the Union as the 36th state by President Abraham Lincoln.
