In October our director Nina Lemmens, who had directed the DWIH New York since 2014, left us to begin a position on the Executive Board of the Joachim Herz Foundation in Germany. Replacing her as director of the DWIH New York and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) North America will be Benedikt Brisch, who will start in January 2019. 

This year we held 22 events in New York and 6 others in cities across the U.S. Thanks to all of you who made it out to participate with us. 

We freshened things up in 2018 by taking our events outside of the German Consulate building and into new venues like startup accelerators and innovation labs across NYC.
