Protecting the Rights of People & Nature From the Local Up
Hi,

Community Rights US is on a roll!

We are currently organizing our first national series of events, coming up this February to commemorate the 200th Anniversary - the Bicentennial - of the US Supreme Court granting constitutional “rights” to corporations beginning in 1819.

We're calling these events " Roasting 200 years of Corporate Constitutional “Rights” 1819-2019 : See how our rights have been usurped in plain sight… and learn how we can take back local control!"

We are in the process of confirming Bicentennial events in Iowa, Wisconsin, Oregon, Washington, Michigan, Missouri and California. We’re hoping that at least five to ten more communities will join in the fun.

Would you like to organize a February event in YOUR community? We can help you brainstorm creative ideas for your event, and provide you with a press release and public flyers for posting.

We are reaching out to other allied organizations around the country, to diversify our list of sponsors . So far, we have received confirmation that both the National Lawyers Guild and the American Constitution Society will become co-sponsors. We’re still waiting to hear from Move To Amend and other groups.
Do YOU belong to a group that would like to co-sponsor our February events? If yes, please get in touch with us SOON .

We are also preparing to launch a captioned photography exhibit titled, “Hidden in Plain Sight” , that unveils the myriad of ways that large corporations exercise their constitutional “rights” under our noses, every day and everywhere, in ways that we don’t even notice!

This exhibit will be ready for use in time for our coordinated February events. You can consider this as part of your offerings if you host a Bicentennial event in your community. Interested? Let us know.
Here's to a resilient new year!

Founding Director,

P.S. The best Holiday Gift EVER....is when we are able to make a big difference within the Community Rights movement.

This all takes money. We continue to operate on an unbelievably tight budget of just hundreds of dollars per month with close to zero paid staff! As you can imagine, this is not sustainable in the long run.

In these last few weeks of 2018, we want to urge you to consider an end-of-year tax-deductible donation, be it one time or monthly.

If you regularly give $25 or $50 or $100 to a giant non-profit like the ACLU or Public Citizen or the Sierra Club, it’s just a drop in their funding ocean.
For us, a contribution can make truly big waves, because we are so frugal with the money we have available to spend.

Please consider making a $50 or $25 or $10 or even $5/month tax-deductible donation to Community Rights US? We will be ever so grateful.
P.P.S. Looking for other ways that you can assist Community Rights US? Here are a few very helpful options, that can make a big difference for us:

  • Frequent flyer miles
  • Ongoing Volunteer with WordPress website design skills
  • Suggestions for affordable experienced grant writers
  • Host a February Bicentennial event in your community (details above)

Thank you for your ongoing support.
