CCA CommEd2019  CSI Participates in State-Wide Complete College America Momentum Pathways Project
Complete College America (CCA), a nonprofit focused on helping college students complete college with credentials or a degree, created an initiative titled Momentum Pathways Scale Project. The project focuses on boosting college attainment by developing clear pathways and implementing evidence-based strategies to help college students meet key, first-year benchmarks. Data shows that students who reach these important benchmarks are more likely to succeed.

"By providing key benchmarks, students are able to map out an achievable plan for the future." said Sammi Sanchez, CSI Student Senator.

The Momentum Pathways Scale Project includes Idaho's public two- and four-year colleges and universities. As a participant, the College of Southern Idaho will engage in the three-year project to deliver on the State Board of Education's strategic initiatives to increase credential completion, expand access to postsecondary education, improve student success, and invest in affordability and innovation. With significant structured implementation support from CCA staff and content experts, CSI seeks to employ momentum pathway strategies in math, advising, corequisite support in English and math, and student onboarding.

"Participating in Idaho's Momentum Pathways Scale Project will help CSI rally around a set of nationally proven, evidence-based strategies that, when implemented at scale and coordinated with one another, will boost student success, increase college completion, and eliminate achievement gaps for our students," said John Hughes, CSI Instructional Dean.

For more information about Complete College America visit https://completecollege.org/. For more information about the College of Southern Idaho becoming a Momentum Pathways participant, please contact John Hughes.

Help us recognize and congratulate these students!

Coach Lindsey Anderson said, "I am so proud of these athletes and their dedication in the classroom. They worked so hard for their academic success during the fall semester and it paid off! They have set the bar high for themselves, but I suspect they will be just as successful this upcoming spring semester! Nice work team!"

March 6 - 9 at 7:30 p.m. and March 9 at 2 p.m. in the CSI Fine Arts Theater

A comedic romp into the world of fantasy role-playing games, She Kills Monsters tells the story of Agnes Evans as she leaves her childhood home in Ohio following the death of her teenage sister, Tilly. When Agnes finds Tilly's Dungeons & Dragons notebook, however, she stumbles into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was Tilly's refuge. In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and 90s pop culture, acclaimed young playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens, and free for CSI students.
