BobBlast #233
Using Hot, Fluorescent Colors
Ooops! Sorry - here's the right video. Happy Holidays HoHoHo!
Welcome Back to Another BobBlast
This week's BobBlast is an answer to a frequently asked question about one of my favorite colors - Luminous Opera... that hot, fluorescent, luminous pink! You ask about its bad reputation - that the color might fade away eventually. No worries!
Watch the video: I admire these Holbein Luminescent colors for their versatility when mixed into other colors - such as Marigold or Ultramarine Blue. When mixed into other colors, the possibility of Luminous Opera fading is not an issue for me.
Besides, I finish the artwork with a final coat of UV varnish, helping the colors' permanency. Actually, I really don't worry that much about it - I use Opera everywhere... on top of a "dried" painting as an overall tint, as well as mixed into other colors - as you can see on the video.
Most paint manufacturers offer these fluorescent colors. I prefer Holbein because of their high pigment content.
Painting with a side of Luminous Opera on standby is like going to the circus!
