Grow and Cook with Herbs
(planting and potluck sessions)

Friday, August 24, 6 - 7:30 p.m.

May 19 - Planting Session: participants will  receive a small herb box containing seeds such as basil, parsley or thyme, instructions on how to grow the herbs, and recipe suggestions.

Aug 24 - Potluck Session: participants will bring dishes that they've made using the herbs from the planting session. Participants will have an opportunity to meet, eat, learn and discuss dishes from different cultures. Made possible by the Library Small Grants Program.

Registration required. Participants should make sure that they are able to attend both sessions. Please register for each event separately. Limit of one participant per household.

Reading Link Challenge

Reading Link Challenge is a quiz program for children in grades four and five, who read and become familiar with six books. The teams then compete to answer questions about characters, plots and settings. You're invited to be part of the audience supporting North Shore teams!

NVCL's 9th annual Kilby Memorial Teen Art Contest and reception reflect this year's theme: The Story Begins. The contest calls for teens to showcase their creativity and capture the heart of the North Shore.
Intro to Maya and Digital Animation

Want to learn the basics of digital animation?  Meet with Emily Carr University animation department's student art mentors for hands-on tutorials. Learn about animation using Autodesk's Maya 3D software, share your art and get feedback from university student mentors.
