Society Welcomes new Executive Assistant
The Lifesaving Society is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Lee Galusha as the Executive Assistant for the Alberta and Northwest Territories Branch.
Lee started with the Society on October 1st, 2018 and will work with the Executive Director, and staff team to achieve the strategic directions of the Society for a Canada Free from Drowning and Water Related Injury. She will be filling a position within Branch operations, working with fellow staff members to meet growing demand for training programs. In addition, she will be assisting with program administration, training coordination and safety services.
Lee comes to the Society from a 25 year background in aquatics. She started her career with the City of Edmonton as a Swim Instructor teaching from the preschool level to the advance levels including the Lifesaving Society's programs (Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross). Lee also was a Bronze Examiner which led to receiving the President's Award from HRH the Duke of Kent in 1996. Throughout her career Lee moved on to become a Lifeguard, Lifeguard Supervisor and eventually a Facility Programmer. Lee brings to the Lifesaving Society an understanding and knowledge of the programs that we offer.
"I've been in aquatics from a very young age and really enjoyed teaching the values of safety in and around the water. After leaving the city 4 years ago, I still find myself prepared for any water situation whenever we travel (once a lifeguard always a lifeguard). I'm excited to step into the role as Executive Assistant with the Lifesaving Society and to get back to aquatic roots!"
Lee can be reached during business hours at the Lifesaving Society's office at (780) 415-1755 or by e-mail at [email protected].
