"Empowering Families. Coordinating Systems."
Families Together in New York State is thrilled to announce the launch of an exciting new version of the PEP training.

Are You Interested in Becoming a Credentialed Family Peer Advocate?
All new Family Peer Advocates will be trained through a combination of online modules, a two-day in person training, and coaching calls. Along with this new training approach, we have also made some changes in the credentialing process.  CLICK HERE for a brief overview of the new credentialing process.

If you have already completed the Traditional 40 hour in-person PEP training, you do not have to take the new online version.  If have not yet applied for the FPA Credential, please call our office, or contact us at [email protected], for information on how to start the process.

Do You Already Have Your FPA Credential?
Earn Continuing Education Credits!
If you already have your FPA Credential, you do not need to retake PEP training.  However, you can complete these new online modules to earn FPA Continuing Education credits needed for your credential renewal.

Choose the Right Pathway for You!
Follow this LINK to the FTNYS training page.  As you scroll down the page, you will see that there are two PEP Training 'pathways.'
  • If you are new to PEP Training you will choose the FPA Credential Pathway.
  • If you currently hold an FPA Credential, you will choose the Continuing Education Pathway.
Getting Started!
The modules are hosted by our partners at the Community Technical Assistance Center (CTAC) on their Self-Learning Center. Here is a LINK to the Self-Learning Center Getting Started Guide. This Guide will walk you through the process of creating a user profile and accessing the PEP Training modules.

The process is easy, but if you encounter any technical problems at all, you can contact CTAC using the Help Button in the Self-Learning Center or by email at  [email protected]. For questions regarding credentialing, you can contact us at  [email protected]

What's Next?
We will be hosting a webinar with CTAC, outlining the new PEP training and FPA Credential. Watch for an announcement in your email. If you have questions before then, please feel free to reach out to us.

We extend our thanks to the FPAs who participated in the development of this training (some of whom are featured in the modules) and to our partners at the New York State Office of Mental Health, the Community Technical Assistance Center, the McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research and the NYU Global Learning and Innovation team. This work would not have been possible without their support and expertise.

Hope you enjoy the training modules,

Susan
