A Christmas Cantata

Unified Worship Service
Sunday, December 23  ::  10:30 AM
Invite a family member, neighbor or friend and join us on Sunday morning, December 23 for a spectacular presentation of Vivaldi's Gloria! with the  St. Giles Chancel Choir, under the direction of Ben Miller, Director of Music and Worship Arts. Our gifted house organist, Linus Ellis, will perform on the pipe organ and all will enjoy a meaningful celebration of the Christmas season in music and song.

A Christmas Reception immediately follows the Cantata in Common Grounds.

Christmas Reception

Bring a favorite sweet or savory finger food and join us after the Cantata on Sunday, December 23rd for a Reception and time of Fellowship in Common Grounds.

We will also be honoring our friend Donna Roman and thanking her for her years of service here as "Chef Donna". Donna is moving to Oklahoma in January to be close to family. Be sure and give her a hug and best wishes as she follows God into the next season.

Monday, December 24

The St. Giles tradition continues with two evening worship services to welcome Christmas:

5 PM - Family Worship Service
A participatory service designed for the whole family. Bring the children and grands for an invitation to greet the Christ child.

10 PM Candlelight Worship Service
A formal candlelight worship service with communion to welcome the birth and life of Lord Jesus, the Christ. Music begins at 9:45.

Highlights of the Session Meeting

The Session met December 17. Here are some highlights of their actions:
  • They received Alycia Greene as a Covenant Partner.
  • They endorsed Angie Cooke's proposal that we form a team and investigate the possibilities of an art ministry here.
  • They adopted a 2019 budget.
  • They approved the launch of a Friday evening prayer and praise service.

Merry Christmas  Police, Fire & EMS
Goodies from St. Giles

On Christmas Eve we're preparing trays of cookies, snacks and goodies for the local Fire and Police Departments as a gift from St. Giles to bless those on duty who serve our Glenburnie neighborhood. If you can bring a little extra on Sunday for the Christmas Reception, we'll make up trays and deliver them on Monday. If you'd like to help deliver, call the Church Office and chat with Lynn.
