Spotlight on Teen Girl Scouts!
Autumn H. - Camp Fury Participant

Finding her voice and blazing her path! Most of us can’t imagine running into a burning building, but for Girl Scout Senior Autumn H., that is exactly what she dreams of doing for her future career.

Autumn is a sophomore and a part of the Olathe West Public Safety Academy, a program where students gain the knowledge and skills necessary for post-secondary experiences in the professions of fire rescue or law enforcement through a partnership between Olathe West High School, Olathe Public Safety Department and Johnson County Community College.

Autumn is also a Girl Scout Destinations participant of Camp Fury Arizona and is giving us some AMAZING feedback as together with the KCK Fire Dept., KCMO Fire Dept., KCMO Police Dept. and Wyandotte County Sheriff's Office, Camp Fury KC begins in the Summer of 2019.

Troop 1169 - Lee's Summit

Troop 1169 is DEFINITELY on the "Nice List!" GS This Ambassador troop planned and hosted a Kidz Night Out and big fun was had by all younger Girl Scouts in attendance!
Troop 988 - Kansas City, MO

Cadette Troop 988 participated in their annual holiday service to Della Lamb's Operation Santa Claus. They have been doing this incredible service tradition since they were Kindergarten Daisies! These 6th grade Cadettes have wrapped presents, sorted toys, stuffed food bags and stuffed stockings. This year was stocking stuffing, again!! The girls had a BLAST and felt AWESOME giving back!
Tell us your story! How are you or your Girl Scout taking the lead? We love our Girl Scouts in action with our programs, but we are not limited here. Is she taking the lead in school, in her place of worship or in another group activity? Share with us at prdept@gsksmo.org or use the social media icons below with #BecauseofGirlScouts .

Stand Up for G.I.R.L.s
As a parent/caregiver, you know the benefits that Girl Scouting brings to the life of your girl. As 2018 comes to an end, we have girls just like yours, right here in your community, in need of financial support to fulfill their Girl Scouting dreams. There's still time to make a fully tax deductible gift to Girl Scouts. You know better than anyone the power of Girl Scouts, so we need your help to bring that to more girls in need. To make a gift of any size today, visit gsksmo.org/seasonofgiving. For all you do all year for girls, THANK YOU!!
