NO MATTER WHAT HOLIDAY YOU
CELEBRATE, WE’D LIKE TO WISH YOU A SAFE AND HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON AND A PEACEFUL AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!

As we look back on the past year, we want to recognize the many generous people who have helped us. From our individual donors to the businesses who have partnered with us: We appreciate you!
Kailee Mills Foundation Drive to Save Lives Golf Tournament
We had a successful fundraiser this month with our first golf tournament! Over 200 people came out and played on teams of friends, coworkers, and new acquaintances. We had some awesome auction items and wonderful sponsors!

HOLIDAY SAFETY
As you head out to visit loved ones, makes sure you are buckling up as soon as you get in the car. Keep your seat belt on until you reach your destination (or a gas station). Someone is waiting to share the holidays with you; so get there safe.

  • Buckle up every passenger every ride
  • Don't drive drowsy
  • Drive sober
  • Drive without distractions
  • Obey the speed limit

Kailee Mills Foundation Through the Eyes of Others
Dustin Craeger, Spring Fire Department Firefighter and friend of the Mills family, was one of the first to arrive on scene the night of October 28, 2017. As he recounts that night, he remembers it being "eerily dark" and "a lot of panic on the scene".

Dustin's message about seat belts is clear:

" It's very simple. Very easy. Seat belts save lives. They save lives every day, all day long. I have made very few fatality accidents where we had to cut a seat belt off of somebody that is dead. It just doesn't happen."

This video shares our story through the eyes of our donors, volunteers, and the family community we created. This is why we started Kailee Mills Foundation.
David Mills, Kailee's father and President/Co-founder of Kailee Mills Foundation, was asked to join the November National Law Enforcement Liaison (LEL) webinar along with LEL Katie Alexander.

Katie pulled her resources to figure out the issue regarding the stretch of roadway where the car wreck Kailee was in happened. She had this to say:

After I read on Facebook what had happened, I pulled all my LE resources together within a matter of four days and we had a meeting at the commissioner's office. I brought in one of my experts from Missouri City PD, we got to the root of the problem involving that stretch of roadway, and pulled together a team to work speed STEP out there. This is why they asked me to do the webinar. Too often, we just say we'll do it later and we want to provide to others. We can fix things now...not a year from now. I thought it would be an even better webinar if David joined and shared his story. Unfortunately, [it is easy to] have a tendency to forget the humanity behind what we do and [we] need this reminder that Kailee had a name and she wasn't just a number. It breaks my heart every time I talk about, but it needs to be shared. I have her picture on every one of my presentations from Distracted Driving to Child Passenger Safety, and everything in between. My kids all graduated from Klein Oak, and I lost someone very close to me from not wearing his seat belt (daughter's boyfriend, 16 yr old boy [who lived] next door) so this hits really close to home for me.

The webinar is called: Creating Positive Change in a Challenging Environment. It was an honor to be invited to share our mission and Kailee's story.
