Teacher Spotlight
Mr. Galan - Parent Engagement Liaison
Q: How long have you been a teacher? How long at TPES?
A: I have been in education for 15 years. (OCPS - 7 years and Tangelo Park Elementary - 1 year)
Q: Where did you graduate from college?
A: I graduated from Universidad Metropolitana P.R.
Q: What is your favorite part about being a teacher?
A: My favorite part about being a Parent Engagement Liaison is that I love the connection with families and able to help them with their needs. My favorite part about teaching is that I love looking at the children's faces and how they glow with excitement when they learn something new. Their smiles make my day. Also, I love it when they take things to the next level using what they have learned and apply it to a new topic.
Q: What book is your favorite book?
A: I really like
The Lorax by Dr. Suess because I love gardening and the environment. The need to save our planet is high. The story behind the book is awesome! I suggest that you search for it.
Q: Hobbies, interests?
A: I love gardening and riding horses. I also love to cook. I like reading about new recipes and trying to make them.
Mr. Galan is a graduate of the Universidad Metropolitana P.R. His favorite book (right) happens to be by Dr. Seuss - "The Lorax" - and he highly recommends it!
