Dear friends,

No matter the February Minnesota snow tsunami that increased demand and made the trek to food shelves more challenging, our food shelf and food shelves all over the state are March-ready to meet that challenge.

Our Prevent Hunger Campaign and the March Minnesota Foodshare Campaign couldn't be more timely.

Resolved to not let chancy roads, snow and cold that played havoc with cars and ordinary living patterns slow us down, we're ready to fill up the shelves to ensure no family or child goes hungry. There's a role and a way for each and all of us to make that happen again. In just 27days. Donations of $200,000 and 100,000 pounds of food will do it.

Heartfelt thanks to early donors, The Mosaic Company and Sears Imported Autos for jump-starting our financial challenge. Every $1 donated leverages $9 worth of food and goods from local food partners.

Every school, faith community, business, civic group and neighborhood food drive is the secret sauce that will get us to the $200,000 and 100,000 pounds goal.

Thank you, friends. Once again, we're betting on us!

Executive Director

THE PREVENT HUNGER CAMPAIGN, MARCH 1-31
Last year, your neighbors needed more than 1 million pounds of food

The Prevent Hunger campaign is Interfaith Outreach's annual effort to address - and prevent - hunger right here in the western suburbs. Our goal is to raise $200,000 and 100,000 pounds of food shelf donations before March 31. Your support for the Prevent Hunger campaign not only provides access to nutritious and culturally appropriate food, but a host of family support and employment services that set people on the path to more hopeful futures. Here's how you can get involved:
  • Organize a food and fund drive (view the group flyer, food and fund drive packet, and full toolkit for ideas and resources)
  • Make a financial gift online or send a check (memo line "Prevent Hunger").  Every $1 donated allows us to source $9 worth of food and household items through our food partners.
  • Bring most-needed items to Interfaith Outreach
Food donations are accepted from Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., at 1605 County Road 101 N in Plymouth. Schedule large donations drop-offs by calling 763-489-7530.
