Honeywell Donates $1.5M in Safety Products to Aguadilla, Moca

The product donation was part of an ongoing effort to bring humanitarian relief to the

stricken municipalities, sponsored by Honeywell Hometown Solutions, the company's

corporate citizenship initiative.

Fit-Testing Would be Worth Listening To (Honeywell Industrial Safety, ISEA)

The Directorate of Standards and Guidance, part of the USA's Occupational Safety and

Health Administration, recognised the importance of ensuring that "personal protective

equipment (PPE) must properly fit each employee" at the latest annual meeting of

International Safety Equipment Association, in November 2017.

TSI Announces Acquisition of Noise, Environmental, and Heat Stress Monitoring

Products from 3M

TSI Incorporated announced it has acquired certain 3M Personal Safety Division offerings primarily focused on noise, environmental, and heat stress monitoring. TSI also acquired 3M's Oconomowoc, Wisc. facility where these products are manufactured.

and planning, according to a recent Rave Mobile Safety survey.

Aging Workforce Highlights Workplace Safety

The wave of baby boomers leaving the workforce is cresting as the largest generation of

American workers continues to reach retirement age. Yet while the number of employees

between ages 55 and 65 will peak over the next decade, many will remain in the workforce

past the traditional retirement age, by choice or necessity.

"The ANSI mark is a trusted symbol of quality in today's marketplace," said Lane

Hallenbeck, ANSI vice president, accreditation services. "ANSI investigates every reported

misuse of any ANSI mark, as inappropriate usage is not only fraudulent but may also

threaten health and safety."

OSHA Proposes More Than $250,000 in Fines for Dalton Plant

Following an inspection of the company's Dalton facility, OSHA issued "willful citations for

failing to install a fall protection system, and develop and implement a written permit-required confined-space program."

OSHA Fines Auto Parts Manufacturer $129,000 for Worker Injury

Also, in September 2016, OSHA found 24 safety and health violations against HP Pelzer

and Sizemore, with penalties amounting to $704,610.

Spirit, OSHA Disagree on Workplace Charges

OSHA officials say Spirit managers "failed to implement sufficient feasible engineering

and work practice controls to prevent exposure, conduct monitoring or sampling, provide

training, and require employees to properly remove potentially contaminated personal

protective equipment and clothing before leaving the sanding area."

Doctors Floored by Epidemic Levels of Black Lung in Appalachian Coal Miners

The cases are more severe, and miners are dying younger.
