Science Fair Information Night
Tuesday, February 12th, at 6:30-7:30 pm
This year's Science Fair is Wednesday, March 27th and it's not too early to begin planning your science fair project! Come to our Information Night on Tuesday, February 12
th from 6:30-7:30 in the gym to learn more about how to pick a topic, design a project and purchase a board to display your project. Alternatively, check out our
PTA Science Fair page for more details and ideas. Volunteers are needed to ensure the event runs smoothly. Please contact

Puesta del Sol Kindness Challenge!

All Hands on Kindness
February 11th through March 1st
Puesta del Sol and our PTA, in partnership with Camp Kindness Counts and The Bellevue PTA Council, is participating in the Kindness Challenge. Our school will be collecting donations (no money or gift cards, please) for Seattle Humane and emphasizing acts of kindness at our school.

Box Tops for Education Grades Collection Contest

Puesta del Sol's 6th Annual "Box Tops Collection Contest" is happening! Last year, first graders were the winners! It was a close competition with second graders! The collection runs between Jan. 22nd - Feb. 14th. Start clipping Box Tops and send those with your kids, so they and their buddies can have an extra recess (weather permitting)!
So far, we've collected $211.00. Let's get at least $750 for Puesta del Sol!
Each classroom will have a collection box.

Spotlight: Srta. Heidi Von Tersch
4th Grade Teacher
"Gracious" is the word that comes to mind when you meet Srta. Heidi. Many will describe her as energetic and passionate for READING! This is Srta. Heidi's 4th year at Puesta del Sol and her 10th year teaching. Srta. Heidi's Spanish history was enhanced as she graduated with a Bachelor and Master of Arts degree in Spanish language and literature. She also lived in Madrid, Spain. She loves Spain in the summertime! She also loves to read and is enjoying snowshoeing this winter. Her goal is to become a better cross-country skier. It looks like she will have a few more snowy days to enjoy this new hobby. We are lucky to have her on our 4th Grade teaching team and her students are even luckier!
