DRAGON TALES
OCTOBER 18, 2018
Dear St. George Families
A parent of one of our students recently made a comment to the effect that when you select a school for your kids, you select a community. They went on to say that at St. George, they have experienced a terrific community.
Next Friday marks the beginning of our St. George Fair, we can see once again what a terrific community St. George is. Months of planning and hard work come together for next weekend's Fair. Our Fair raises substantial dollars for our school. It is all for our school and students.
As a school community I want to thank Scott Johnson and the Fair Steering Committee. He and his team of dedicated volunteers have worked hard to make this years Parish Fair an event to be remembered.
I also want to thank all of you for donating sponsorships, volunteering and of course attending! A successful Fair is not possible without all of you! Thank you.
I reminded the students earlier this week that they have so many people behind them, supporting and encouraging them. The Fair is a terrific example of that support.
It takes a community to raise a child! What kind of community would you rather be part of than the great community we experience right here?
May God bless you and your family.
Jack Nelson

In the month of October our school is focusing on the virtue of reverence. We would like to suggest the following activities which can be done as a family to practice the virtue of reverence.
- Pray a family rosary
- As a family, participate in our parish Adoration in the Chapel
(Thursdays from 7am -7pm)
- Set aside a family prayer time each day to read from the Bible
We explained to our students that reverence means doing something with great respect for God. Last Monday, we practiced the virtue of reverence with our middle school students at a praise and adoration service. On Friday our K-8 graders participated in the Living Rosary which gave our students the opportunity to again practice this virtue.
