A Message from Michael Jacobson,  IHLA President & CEO
December 17, 2018
Dear IHLA Members,

As a result of continued efforts by IHLA working and meeting with the members of the Travel Regulation Council, staff of the Governor's Office and members of the Illinois General Assembly, I am pleased to announce that last Thursday, the Travel Regulation Council voted unanimously to increase the state lodging per diem rate by $15.00. The increase is for all counties, with the exception of Chicago/Cook County, where the state rate is tied to the federal lodging per diem rate. Please watch the video and see below for more details.

Rate Increases by County
  • DuPage, Kane, Lake, Will, McHenry: $80 to $95
  • Champaign, Kankakee, LaSalle, McLean, Macon, Madison, Peoria, Rock Island, St. Clair, Sangamon, Tazewell, Winnebago: $70 to $85
  • All other downstate counties: $60 to $75
The increase, which will now be reviewed and adopted by the Joint Committee on Administrative Rule (JCAR) for final adoption, will be effective July 1, 2019.

Michael
