Principal's Message

Greetings,

Fall on the Hill is a beautiful time for us to recognize the wonder of living in Minnesota. The sunshine, change of colors on the trees, crunch of leaves and sound of kids playing outside my window is a happy reminder of all the blessings we have at Loyola. At the top of the list is the blessings of our families who entrust the education of their children to us! I hope all our families are able to take time for fall family fun during this long weekend.

*Just a reminder about our New Family Check-In next Monday evening (10/22) at 6pm. We hope to see our new 7-12 families there!

Have a wonderful weekend! See you on Monday!

Adam Bemmels,  PS-12 Principal
All School News

During homecoming week, one of the high school groups was assigned to work with SS Boutique for Crusaders in the Community Day.  While there, we learned that they are in desperate need of winter gear: coats, hats, gloves, boots, and snow pants of  every size . SS Boutique's mission is to collect donated materials and get them in the hands of those in need in the Mankato community.

From October 15 - November 1, 2018, we will be collecting clean, gently used winter gear to donate to SS Boutique. This is a competition between ALL grades from PS-12. Students in PS-6 can bring in gear to their classroom teachers. Students in 7-12 should donate gear to their advisory teachers. Whichever class donates the most will win a catered lunch!

How can you help?
We are looking to collect winter gear of ALL sizes! This includes winter coats, snow pants, boots, hats, and gloves. Each item you donate will earn your class a set of points:
Winter Coats = 40 points
Snow Pants = 20 points
Boots = 10 points
Hats = 5 points
Gloves = 5 points

What if you don't have gear?
If you are moved to help the cause but do not have any gear to donate, you may choose to instead give a monetary donation. In this case, the dollar value will be the points your class earns. $1 = 1 point

Please make sure that all gear being donated has been cleaned. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Honerman at [email protected]

SEEKING HOST FAMILIES
Be an ambassador for America and become a Host Family for a student from Buenos Aires, Argentina! Becoming a Host Family is easy, rewarding, and builds life-long friendships with folks all around the world. All you need to do is keep being a typical American family and provide room, board, and transportation to and from Loyola Catholic School (you'll receive a stipend to help offset costs). Students will be in Mankato from January 6 - February 9, 2019, and want to experience America and improve their English. For more information on hosting, please contact Julienne Antes at 507-304-2143 or [email protected].
