Class Of 2017 Eagle Reception

The Capitol Area Council reception for 2017 Eagle Scouts will be on Saturday, February 24, 2018. Eagle Scouts, families, friends, and troop/team/crew/ship members are invited to attend. Looking For A Few Good Staffers

Are you looking for a fun way to spend your summer? Join our amazing team of seasoned staffers for a summer job that is second to none. We are looking for ages 16 and older to staff our program areas, 15-year-olds for Counselors in Training, and a few older staffers for Medic, Trading Post Director and a second ATV Instructor. Register Now For Spring Hornaday

Interested in the natural world and conservation? Join your fellow Scouts at the Spring Hornaday Award Weekend, April 20-22 at Lost Pines, to start your journey to earning Scouting's highest conservation award. Classes are all taught by professionals in each field. Project advisors will be on hand to help you start planning your Hornaday Project. We are also partnering with our council's STEM/NOVA committee to offer more class options during the weekend. Event is for Boy Scouts but any youth may join us for the our "Take Care of Texas" Conservation Project on Sunday morning 9am at Lost Pines (please contact Jessica Snider if you are interested in attending just the conservation project). 2018 Council Award Recipients

Join us on Saturday, March 24, from 1pm-4pm at the Frank Fickett Scout Training and Service Center to honor an outstanding group of Scouters and community leaders. TechLab Summer Day Camp

Our award-winning STEAM Day Camp challenges your Scout to explore STEM as they prepare to live in cave environments. Classes cover Robotics, Electronics, Programming, Woodworking/CNC and more! There are new classes this year at the 6th-9th grade level. Camp takes place at Austin ISD's Applied Technology Center at Anderson High School in five week-long sessions in June and July. 2018 Philmont Unit, Provisional Crew Openings

We have openings on a potential 2018 Provisional Crew to Philmont Scout Ranch. Our council's High Adventure Committee is looking for youth and adults from units that do not have enough participants for a full 12 person Crew. They will train and coordinate with crewmembers from other units to form a full 12 person crew. The price for the contingent is $1330 per person, which includes travel, Philmont fee, food, travel bags, and patches. The travel dates are June 24, 2018, to July 7, 2018. 2019 Philmont Council Contingent Openings

Our High Adventure Committee is also looking for additional applications for our 2019 Philmont council contingent. The dates for a two week expedition in 2019 are Sunday, June 23, to Saturday, July 26. The cost for the expedition is estimated at $1368 per participant.
