The current administration has sent out a new proposed requirement that all visa applicants, except those applying for diplomatic or "official" visas, provide the last 5 years of their social media handles, email addresses, telephone numbers, and international travel, amongst many other forms of private information.

The rule was just proposed in the federal register, so there is a 60 day comment period in which anyone may provide feedback. Do keep in mind that it is a public forum, and anything that you write could be used publicly later.
