Special thanks to the sponsors, donors and volunteers who supported the 2018 NEF Legends Golf Tournament presented by Linebarger!  An event like this could not take place without the enthusiasm of all our community partners and we appreciate you.  Your generous contributions helped us raise $69,310 to benefit Northwest ISD educators and students through innovative teaching grants and scholarships!

The foundation's innovative teaching grants allow teachers to take a more creative approach to education and dream bigger.  Student scholarships are awarded annually to help ensure that Northwest ISD graduates continue their path to success, even after they leave the district.  As a leader in the Northwest community, your partnership is essential to bringing talents and resources of the business community into the classroom.  To view event photos, click here.  For more information about the foundation and how you can get involved, visit the NEF website

Teachers at Love Elementary Honored for Innovation
Congratulations to Love Elementary School's Sarah Aldridge and Jen Hall for being named CoServ's Teachers of the Month for October!  Sarah and Jen turned their fifth grade classroom into an "operating" room where students could operate on a diaper using lab procedures and surgical tools.  Students were able to "scrub in" and wear surgical gloves, masks and gowns to conduct experiments on the diapers absorbency.  Sarah and Jen were awarded $250 each from CoServ to use to enhance their classrooms.  Thank you to CoServ for supporting NISD educators and making a difference in the lives of our students!

New adopt-a-school partner
Wise Guys Pizzeria Roanoke--represented by owner Kevin McNamara.  The Northwest ISD Education Foundation has already begun collaborating with Wise Guys.  They donated dinner at the end of the NEF Legends Golf Tournament earlier this month.  PIE thanks and welcomes Wise Guys Pizzeria Roanoke as a proud Northwest ISD Partner in Education.

With a district as large as Northwest ISD, the possibility of fraudulent business practicies can grow year to year.  Often times, it is the students, business partners and booster club organizations who suffer as a result of scam artists.  Recently, an organization named Touchdown Sports, claiming to represent NISD, fraudulently sold advertising to one of our business partners for thousands of dollars.

When the advertiser contacted NISD to hang banner ads in our facilities, they realized Touchdown Sports has mirepresented themselves and defrauded the customer.  Please be aware that NO EXTERNAL ORGANIZATION IS AUTHORIZED TO REPRESENT OR SELL ADVERTISING FOR NISD AT ITS CAMPUSES.  The only external advertising partnership Northwest ISD has is with EFPages, which is currently selling ads in a magazine (not schools).  The district has no other partner to sell advertising.

We want to do our best to prevent this type of fraudulent business practice from occurring again in the future.  We ask all of our community members and business partners to contact the NISD administration directly if you are unsure about vendors or businesses claiming to represent or sell advertising for Northwest ISD and its campuses.  You can reach us at 817-215-0056, or email NISD Communications Coordinator Jerry Cantu at [email protected].
