News and Updates from HCS
Reminders

*Next week Monday through Wednesday, the External Review Team for ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) will be on-site conducting our re-accreditation site visit. We're excited for this step in the process as much work has been done over the last several months to prepare and compile all the necessary evidence to showcase the excellence that exists at Heritage. Please pray for all aspects of this visit (including favorable weather for the team to travel on Sunday) and for God's continued blessing on the school as we seek to teach and train students to serve Christ.
* Heritage H.A.N.D.S. Meeting, Wednesday, April 11
Come join us after drop off and share your ideas on how we can express our appreciation for all the HCS staff does for our school. As always, younger siblings are welcome. If you cannot make the meeting, but have ideas you would like to share, please let us know !

During April, UICCU members (new or existing) will again have the opportunity to make a donation (minimum $25 up to $500 per household) to Heritage through UICCU’s Give&Grow Schools Initiative. Member gifts will be deducted from respective checking or savings accounts and  UICCU will match member donations up to $5,000 for Heritage Christian School.
UICCU members can make a donation by going to www.uiccugiveandgrow.org April 1-30, 2018. They will be directed to select Johnson County, then Heritage Christian.

 If you are giving toward Operation G.O.O.D. (information will be coming home soon regarding this), and do so through the UICCU website, you can include the portion of your donation on the student's form but not the UICCU match amount.
Weekly Feature

Last Thursday afternoon, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders gathered to learn about and celebrate Passover. They identified that Jesus celebrated the Passover with His disciples the night before he was crucified. They learned that God commanded Israel to celebrate Passover as an everlasting ordinance before Him and that throughout the centuries Jewish people have kept the Passover in obedience to this command.

The students were able to learn about the order and steps of the meal and the discussions that took place during the meal. While our students participated in the seder, they identified many key parallels between the story of God's redemption of His people Israel from slavery in Egypt to the story of God's redemption for believers from their slavery to sin. It was a fun learning activity and experience!
