Gov. Malloy Announces Opportunities for Local Communities to Remediate and Revitalize Clusters of Blighted Properties
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced that the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) is now accepting applications for a second round of grant funding under a recently created state grant program that is designed to help local entities create plans for remediating and redeveloping clusters of blighted properties - also known as "brownfields" - within a community.

Garrett Sheehan named president of Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce
Garrett F. Sheehan has been chosen as the newest president of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce.

Currently the economic director for Eversource Energy, the West Hartford resident will take over for Anthony Rescigno, who has led the chamber for 17 years.

Sheehan currently is the liaison between Eversource and municipalities and also supports economic development projects across the area served by the energy company. He takes over from Tony Rescigno on March 1. Read More

Judy D. Olian appointed Quinnipiac University's ninth president
Judy D. Olian, dean and John E. Anderson Chair of Management at the UCLA Anderson School of Management, has been appointed the ninth president of Quinnipiac University. The announcement was made by Chairman of the Board of Trustees William Weldon '71 following the trustees' meeting on Jan. 29.

"Judy Olian brings a rich combination of academic and intellectual expertise, an innovative and student-centered focus, fundraising successes and leadership qualities at a global level to Quinnipiac University," Weldon said. "Her ability to lead an internationally renowned business school, together with her demonstrated success in shaping a global strategy for the entire UCLA community, make her uniquely qualified to lead Quinnipiac to even greater heights.
