This year Sinking Springs will...
-Meet our learners at their individual levels
-Allow learne rs t o use their best learning style
- Facilitate learning through high interest concepts
-Provide learners challenging activities that lead to success
-Challenge our learners with rigorous learning outcomes
- Develop relationships with our learners that make them excited to return to Sinking Springs tomorrow!

Miss Elwood's class has taken on the challenge of a student run business. Through their business, The Cookie Crew, learners are provided a real-world learning opportunity to practice their Occupational Therapy, speech, and academic goals in a practical but fun manner. Order tabulations, money counting, product delivery, customer service, and creating promotional artwork are just a few of the skills the SSE life skills learners are practicing through this business project.

Winter Concerts

Members of the 5th and 6th grade music ensembles - Band, Orchestra and Chorus - will have performances on December 11th (Fifth Grade) and December 12th (Sixth Grade) starting at 7pm in the Central York High School auditorium. There is no charge for the events; families and students will enter at the 'Fine Arts' entrance in the bus loop of CYHS. Musician report time is by 6:45.

Additionally, students will travel to the HS on the morning of their concert for a rehearsal on the stage. Students should listen for instructions from their director and the office for when it is time to board buses - band and orchestra members will need their instrument and music for this practice AND then take materials home for the evening concert.
Our Dress Code for performers is simply "look your best" and avoid very casual clothes. We do not want anyone to buy special outfits, but would appreciate everyone making an effort to dress nicely for this special event.
The entire concert is scheduled to be less than an hour, so we would ask families in the audience to stay seated for the entire performance of all 3 ensembles - students will be watching and listening to their friends perform via closed circuit monitors in the back.

Cafeteria Corner

On Monday, November 19th, Sinking Springs served our holiday meal to celebrate Thanksgiving. This student and staff favorite consisted of many handmade favorites, including pulled turkey, stuffing balls, real mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and corn. Sinking Springs appreciates the extra work and attention the cafeteria staff dedicated to this truly special meal.

We will host a second holiday meal on December 13th in celebration of the various winter holidays taking place throughout the season!

On Wednesday, December 5th, our learners were treated with fresh strawberry shortcake for lunch. Our cafeteria staff did an amazing job of creating this delectable treat for our kids!
