Principal's Message February 9, 2018

As one of Fountain Hills Middle School Falcon Leaders' projects this year, students will be fundraising for Reigning Grace Ranch. Reigning Grace helps children and families believe that they are a "worthwhile somebody" by bringing horses, children, mentors, families, and volunteers together in an authentic working ranch environment. It is a place of tranquility and refuge on 15-acres in the beautiful Arizona desert. Home to some 40 rehabilitated and rescued horses, goats, chickens, donkeys and a cow named Norman, the ranch strives to achieve their mission of "Redemption, Strength, and Discovery" by creating a healing sanctuary for those who need it most - Arizona at-risk youth, Arizona Foster kids, and at-risk families. The goal at Reigning Grace is for the participants to experience what it means to work hard or have "grit" for what they have, be a part of something bigger than they are, develop self-confidence, experience teamwork, accountability, love, safety, trust, encouragement, and hope without judgment.
FHMS students have been attending activities at Reigning Grace Ranch every Thursday for the past two years. Reigning Grace Ranch is a unique non-profit that believes in second chances, and the goal of our Falcon Leaders is to raise $1,100 for the ranch. Donations may be dropped off with Mrs. Beck at the FHMS front office. FHMS Birthday Club
We are excited to offer FHMS families the opportunity to add to their student's birthday celebrations! With our new marquee, we are requesting $5 to add your student's first name and last initial with a "Happy Birthday" message (only current students are eligible). For all submissions, we must have the student's name, birthday, and $5 (cash or check payable to FHMS) at least two weeks prior to their actual date of birth so we are able to program the system accurately. The birthday message will run from 5:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. on the student's birthday. The funds raised through the Birthday Club will be used to purchase 2018-2019 Falcon student agenda books that help keep our pupils organized and include space for parent/teacher communication. We are currently accepting requests for birthdays beginning the week of February 26, 2018. Request forms are available at the front desk, and must be signed by the student's parent/guardian.

Happy Birthday Arizona Dance! Thursday, Feb. 15, 5:30 - 7:00 pm. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased from Mrs. Beck in the front office before/after school or during lunch. No tickets sold after 3:30 pm on Thursday, Feb. 15.

Camp Surf
The 8th grade trip to Camp Surf at Imperial Beach, CA, will take place April 30 - May 2, 2018. For those students attending, the balance of the fee will be due on or before March 23, 2018. If you are not sure of your balance, please call the office at 480.664.5411 for the amount due.
