Hagerstown/Eastern Panhandle Metropolitan Planning Organization Now Seeking Input on a Regional Traffic Safety Study

The Hagerstown/Eastern Panhandle Metropolitan Planning Organization (HEPMPO) is a federally mandated multi-modal transportation planning organization assigned to assist the Washington (MD), Berkeley (WV) and Jefferson County (WV) regions in planning for future transportation needs. The Regional Traffic Safety Study is seeking to evaluate crash rates, crash severity and causes at high need corridors and intersections. This Study will identify recurring trends, contributing factors and recommend specific safety improvements.

In order to gain insight about present and future safety needs in the Region, we are asking YOU to help us identify specific issues, concerns and thoughts regarding transportation in the area. The HEPMPO, in cooperation with local and state agencies, has developed an online survey that seeks input on road conditions, lighting, sight distance, speeding, crosswalks, sidewalks, access issues, construction zones, commercial vehicles, driver behavior and other concerns. Please visit our website at http://safety.metroquest.com from now until November 15th to help us.
