NEW: Updated Official Policy Handbook policy

The 2018-19 Official & Policy Handbook has been updated to reflect action taken by the Council of Presidents at the 2018 fall meetings.  Changes include: w omen's wrestling was affirmed at ten scholarships; b owling was created with a five scholarship limit,  effective  for the 2019-20 academic year;  DII basketball was permitted to increase to seven  scholarships in 2019-20 (Basketball divisions will merge in  2020-21 with a scholarship limit of eight.); and n ew test score minimums have been added for ACT and  SAT tests taken May 2019 and later. The minimums will  affect the exemptions for entering freshman.

 
NEW:  Teachable Moment Form Available teach 

Take advantage of the Teachable Moment Form to offset one ejection for fighting, profanity, or dissent on the Champions of Character Scorecard. This form can be submitted by the athletic director, campus character liaison, or other NAIA institutional staff.
   
 
NEW: New SS360 Start-Up Guides guides
 
Sports Sponsorship 360 (SS360), an NAIA tool which helps analyze the possible effect of adding a new sports program, has added start-up guides for archery, baseball, golf, softball, tennis, volleyball, and swim/dive. To access SS360, login to NAIAHelp and click on SS360 in the left hand menu. Start-up guides can be found in the resource section for the majority of NAIA championship sports.

NEW:  Congrats to Jill Jokerst-Harter jill

Jill Jokerst-Harter, director of athletics at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy, received the Administrator of the Year Award from Women Leaders in College Sports on October 16. Recipients of this award are nominated by their peers for making significant contributions as an administrator to intercollegiate athletics. Congratulations, Jill!

NEW:  NACE Membership Tops 100 NACE 

The National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) now has 102 members. The association, which formed in 2016, has had membership increase by 95% over the past year. Nearly 50 percent of members are NCAA institutions, approximately 40 percent are NAIA, and the remaining 10 percent are NJCAA and Canadian.

Is your school interested in hosting an opening round? Opening round bids for fall sports are due by November 1, 2018. 
 
NEW: InCred Participates in AACRAO Fall Symposium incred 

InCred's Team Lead Garrett Seelinger presented at AACRAO's Fall Symposium as a part of The Cuba Project team. Ongoing research is working towards a joint publication, but the team has already presented findings on the Cuban education system at multiple conferences and in a visit to the U.S. Capitol for a Senate hearing on the day before the Fall Symposium.

Webinar - Don't Let Title IX Scare You title
 
The Leadership, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee is offering its first webinar, Don't Let Title IX Scare You (This Halloween), at 10 a.m. (Central) on Wed., Oct. 31. Hosted by Wayland Baptist Title IX Administrator Justin Lawrence, J.D., M.B.A., the webinar will provide a basic Title IX overview as well as recent, government-issued changes. New Fee Waiver Method Now in Effect waiver 

The new Eligibility Center Fee Waiver method is now in effect. If a student's financial circumstances have changed since high school or their high school is unable to confirm their fee waiver, please contact the eligibility center.
